My First Power Up Day and 2022 Goals

2021 was my first year being involved with crypto and blockchain. As with anything new, there is lots to learn, and a lot of mistakes to be made. Hive was NOT one of those mistakes.

I started learning about blockchain and the more popular coins like BTC, LTC, and ETH in March, and started playing Splinterlands in April. It wasn't until about June or July that I started to take note of all of the awesome things happening on HIVE, though. But once I did, I got real excited.

But about the same time, I had to really pull back on my adventures into crypto, play to earn, and web 3. In 2020 I closed my brick and mortar business due to Covid, and there was a lot of legal trouble that followed.

2021 was the year of lawsuits, paperwork, and bankruptcy filing. If you were unfortunate enough to have a similar year, you probably found out quickly, as I did, that lawyers have absolutely no clue what to do with crypto in general in these matters. The specifics of DeFi, GameFi, and Web3 are completely out of their field.

So the advice I got from my bankruptcy attorney was to sell off all of the crypto that I could and use it to take care of living expenses and things. If I had it as an asset, it would be seized anyway.

So I liquidated what I could (which was mostly bitcoin, at this point in the process powering down hive would have taken longer than the bankruptcy filing), and had to sell when bitcoin was near it's Autumn low. If that money wasn't going to be seized anyway, that forced loss would have really upset me.

After that, I didn't invest in any more crypto. I even felt like I should avoid investing in Splinterlands as much as I wanted to. But my bankruptcy hearing was last month, and my lawyer gave me the green light to start buying assets again. And that brings me to my 2022 HIVE goals.

After being handcuffed for 2021, my first HIVE goal for 2022 is to finish Q1 with 1,000 HIVE powered up. I started on that path today by participating in my first Hive Power Up Day. It feels awesome to start the year being able to move towards the financial goals I wanted to work towards last year.

I'll be buying and powering up HIVE as I can, and posting more regularly now with all of my posts set to 100% power up. Participating in every power up day from here on out is also a big process goal in pursuit of my outcome goal.

There are exciting things to come for HIVE, play to earn, and Web 3. New and innovative ways to create and earn are on the horizon and the existing systems, ways of thinking, and people can't even wrap their heads around it all. I'm here for it.

To everyone who has posted content I've learned from in the past year, THANK YOU. Here's to an abundant 2022 for all of you.
