From Stress to Success: Conquering My Semester Project Presentation

IMG_1599.jpeg

Last week, I was able to finish and present the project of my semester. One of the most stressful things about the course is that the presentation is almost weekly, and we would have to discuss the project and how far we have gone with it, explaining the stage we are in.

This means we have to present different presentation slides for each day we are presenting. Even though it is not a different slide, it has to be updated from what was presented last week. My group is seven (7), which is the same number as other groups. I took on the responsibility of being in charge of making the slides since I have access to the Pro version of Canva and I love making Slides. I see it as art.

Some weeks ago, I also talked about this project, in which I was planning on getting the materials and having to build the project and present it to the department in less than a week. Due to the time limitation, I spent a lot of time writing and troubleshooting the Arduino Code for the Project.

code ard.jpg

Yeah, if you taught so, another aspect in which I supported my group was also in writing and troubleshooting the Arduino Code. I also helped in the coupling of the whole project; I supplied Electricity that the group could use since I own a generator, kept the project with me, and did many of the follow-ups on the project.

I felt that my group was lucky to have me because many of them were quite carefree about the project, and sometimes it felt like they were thinking, "Oh Gifted is in our group; we don't have to stress; he would get it done". The truth is, I couldn't do it alone with the time limit I had. I was grateful I had about two others who still cared a little to work alongside me on building the project.

Regarding the project, it pains me that I did not take a picture or a video of the finished work. But it is something I can talk about anytime since I participated in the project from beginning to end.

In my defence, I was a little nervous and stammered in a way when I was trying to answer questions. I didn't know why I was that nervous because I don't find it difficult to talk publicly. I just found myself really nervous. Although I was able to answer questions directed at me, What I just did was take a breath before I replied to any question.

After the whole presentation, my coursemates and I went out to take some pictures. Unfortunately, I could not take any personal pictures, but I really like the pictures I featured, especially this picture above and the thumbnail of this post.

Talking about personal photos, I was able to take these selfies alone. I took these pictures while I was still in the Laboratory used for Project Defence. I really like the first picture, by the way.

Now let me feed your eyes with the remaining pictures I have here. 👇

Congratulations on your presentation. I can understand the whole thing of people leaving you to do the job because they believe in you. I get like that sometimes when I'm not the group leader😂 but I do contribute a little as well.

Like you, I've been taking parts in a lot of presentations as well. Had one one on Friday and another this morning by 9am. It's been stressful but I hope to make it through just like you.

Hopefully, I'll make a blog of Friday's own soonest. Have a great week!

Funny enough I was not the group leader and I chose not to be because I didn't want this stuff to happen.

For your presentation, what is it about? I think you are in your second year right?

Must be fate then😁

Last Friday's presentation was based on instructional materials and why it's very necessary in education.

Today, though I couldn't present because of time, my topic was 'Modifiers: Adverbs".
The essence of the presentation is to prepare us for teaching practice next semester and mould us to be great English lecturers.

And yes, I'm in my second year.

Congratulations, brother.

I remember how it was to make presentations every week, even when there were no updates on my project really. It was not exactly fun.

Like you, I was always the most active person in group projects throughout my time in school. It wasn't easy, but I just couldn't afford to fail because of the nonchalance of others.

Now, you can concentrate on your exams.

It felt like a relief after I finished my presentation. I was glad I don't have to sleep and worry of what to present the next week. So what is left to worry and prepare for is Exams.

God help me conquer it too.

Congratulations on finishing and presenting your semester project successfully. You've already gone too far; it's already enough. Anyway, sorry for my cracked humor. It sounds like you took on a lot of responsibility within your group. By the way, I wish you continued success in your studies and future endeavors!

Congratulations on the success of the project bro, there is nothing easy when it comes to education in Nigeria.

I read about the project before when you spoke about the materials and how you had to buy the parts at high prices just because the place you wanted to get them wasn't responding.

The shots are awesome and it looks like you will borrow the suit for a while...

Wishing you success in your remaining days in the school... Cheers.

Seriously you went to read about the project. You must have seen that it is not really a complicated project although I faced some challenges.

Smiles, anytime you need my suit just tell me, I would ship it over to you.

Thanks for the well wishes.

You reminded me about my University life when there was a daily presentation and I have to deal with my group assignments alone. Your group is a lucky one by having a person who is doing a lot for them. We should invest in our friends, Gifted you did well by arranging a generator for them to overcome power issues. You are looking awesome in your presentation uniform. I wish you the best of luck for the presentation results.
