I LIED AND HERE IS MY CONFESSION!!!!

I don't often tell lies because I always feel like I have no reason to, and most of the time, I just prefer telling the truth, but I recently lied to someone, and I'm writing this post to confess. Even though it was something silly, it didn't feel quite right.

If you're wondering what I lied about, let me fill you in on how I spent my weekend. During this time, I lied about something trivial. However, thinking about it is quite amusing. I'm sure the person I lied to would eventually see this post.

So I spent the weekend attending church programmes that friends had invited me to. Normally, I don't accept their invitations because of how busy and time-consuming my church is, but I decided to go for these programmes this time.

One of the interesting aspects of participating in these programmes is that you will be given a package containing food to take home with you. This is always one of the motivating factors for me to attend these programmes. It's not that I can't afford to eat, but who doesn't like free food?

So the church I went to was a Celestial church near my school. They were celebrating their annual anniversary, and I was invited because I have many friends who attend that church, and I am considered a half-member there.

When I say half-member, I mean that I frequently attend some of their programmes, and most of the church's executives and members are familiar with my face. Being a half-member grants me some benefits that regular members do not, but that is a topic for another day.

I was given my packaged food immediately after the service ended. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it because I didn't intend to write this post or even lie that day. I began eating my food while waiting for my friends to finish, but before I could finish it, my friends were ready to leave, so I had to stop eating and pack the food to leave.

I realised I was missing my phone chargers as soon as I finished packing the food. I had to return to the church to look for my phone charger, and when I was told that a friend had taken it and kept it in my bag, I was relieved. I forgot my food at church in my haste to leave and meet up with some of my friends who had already left the church.

I was already far away from church when I realised I had forgotten my food. Then I called my roommate, who was still in church, to assist me in looking for my food in the location where I kept it, but all he saw was an empty plate. It sounded like someone had already eaten my food.

Then I remembered that my roommate had left me some food. He asked me to assist him in holding it while I went home. I immediately told him that I had forgotten his food as well, so that I could eat it instead. How devilish of me. 😈

Then I told him to inform the church about what had happened to our food so that my roommate and I could be given another set of food. So I'd get to eat his food as well as the food he assists us in collecting from the church. However, my roommate was only able to get one food back, which he took for himself.

I didn't mind that he only got one food back, but at the very least, I got to eat the food I lied about getting. I've been feeling bad about eating the food and lying about it, so I decided to write down my confession. I'm sure he'll see this, but brother _abeg no vex for me, na because say hunger don wire me and the food I forget pain me, na him make me lie, no vex. biko Don't be mad at me; it's all the devil's fault. 😅😂

Now that I have confessed, I feel better. I hope to resist any form of lying afterwards but this does not stop me from whining people. I can never stop that.
