My Experience Buying a Wireless Keyboard from Konga: Unboxing, Fixing, and Review

I have been thinking of getting a wireless Bluetooth keyboard for a while, but I have been procrastinating because I thought it was not something I needed and I could do without it for a while. But the urge to get a new keyboard drastically increased as my friend @olujay bought a keyboard from Oraimo. I wanted to do the same, but I did not like that the wireless medium used by Oraimo is infrared, and I preferred using a Bluetooth connection as I felt it would be easy to switch from using the keyboard with my computer to using it with my phone.

So I went online to Konga to find a keyboard I could buy that was affordable. I don't have a lot of money with me, so I was really looking at the price and trying to get the lowest price I could find, but I also looked at the specs and made sure that it connects via Bluetooth.

I found an item and placed the order, and in about two days I received a call from the rider saying that he was around my location and that I should come collect my package at a place not far from where he was. I was happy to see that my package had arrived and was ready to receive the order.

The Konga package

One more thing: when I ordered for a keyboard, I also ordered for a mouse, so I thought I would be receiving both orders that same day, but somehow, it turned out that I was wrong and I only got to receive my keyboard from the rider.

Selfies with the Konga package

I collected the package and I took it home. Before entering my room, I had to take the opportunity to take some selfies with the package before unboxing it. I took the package to my table, placed it on my laptop, and took another shot, as you can see in the image below.

Placed the package on my table

The day I received the package, @creativepearl was around, so I gave her the honour of helping me unbox the package herself, which she gladly did.

I gave @creativepearl the honours in unpackaging the keyboard

After she had removed the keyboard from its package, she handed it over to me, and I found out something annoying and disturbing that made me really very annoyed. I found out that the back cover of the keyboard had broken and that it was sold to me as new.

I got really angry when I remembered that orders from Konga do not accept return policies, which means that I cannot place a return order even if I get a bad package. This is the first time this stuff is happening to me, as I mostly order my items on Jumia, so if I receive any package that is bad, I place a return order immediately and my money will be refunded.

The image of the sand and superglue I bought

So I had to think of what to do with the keyboard, as the way the back cover is open makes no sense at all. So I had to look for sand and superglue that would help close it up. I put some sand in the opening, then closed it, and then I applied the super glue I bought to it.

WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE KEYBOARD AFTER USING IT

I decided to use the keyboard to see how it feels, and it is not really the way I expected it. I actually don't like it at all, with the way the keys bounce as I type and with the noise that the keys make. I said in my thoughts: "Would it not have been better to have gone for something more expensive that has a better quality than buying something less expensive and not being satisfied with it".

I concluded that I would manage with this keyboard for now and get a better one when I had more money.

I am expecting a Bluetooth mouse soon, and I hope that will not come with disappointment too. I would drop a review of what I think about the mouse when I receive it.

At times items bought might not meet your expectation, getting a good item without a fault is by luck...I don't know about Konga, I don't like the idea of them not taking a return order. So any order placed is at owner risk, I won't attempt buying from them..lol

You don't have any choice but to manage the keyboard like, but not enjoying a new purchase item feels so bad.

Serious. Really does not feel good not enjoying this product.

I should contact Konga and let them know about how dissatisfied I am with the issue and with the fact that they don’t have a return policy.

wow, I can imagine your pain. It can be frustrating when you spend money and not get the comfort you want. I used konga once when I wanted to get my mifi, didn't know they had a no return policy. Thank God the mifi wasn't a dud.

Also you like pictures oo. Selfie upon selfie. Too bad the keyboard isn't worth it.

Smiles. I snap a lot of pictures because I know I would be needing them for my post. That’s why I take a lot of pictures. At the end it would make it easy to write my story.

The reason why I order from konga is because their delivery fee is cheaper compared to that of Jumia.

Haa! This review is just pissing me off...can u just imagine. The seller has no human conscience. He or she knew that the product wasn't in good state and he had the gut to package it because he is aware of no return policy.
Well, I don't use konga for any reason... their products are quite expensive to start with coupled with their no return policy. Star, you would have checked jumia before deciding on konga

So sorry oo, I hope the mouse will at least compensate you

The reason I use konga is because their delivery fee is far cheaper compared to Jumia to my location. So I always want to save some money on that.

I have bought a lot of good products on Konga and this is my first bad experience with them.

This is the problem with products that are cheap. They usually come with caveats. Although paying more does not exactly guarantee better quality, it is less likely you will get great quality for less money.

This keyboard is total rubbish, living vicariously through you, and it is even worse that it came defective and one cannot return it. I hope you do get more money and replace this toy that you have bought, bro.

Thanks for sharing this. It is quite helpful. I have always ordered items from Jumia, but a friend recently sold me the idea of ordering from Konga and I agreed to try the platform. He never told me about this non-return policy. Now that I know, I'll stay several meters away from Konga.

Thanks once again.
