MY THOUGHTS ABOUT ONBOARDING DEVELOPERS TO HIVE?
For the past few months, I have been taking little steps in the world of programming; majorly web development. I have found the love I have been searching for, a skill which I am willing to build and during this journey, I have made some friends, a few friends actually who have been writing some nice articles on Hashnode.

I have been reading some of these articles and been a little mute about telling one about Hive because I know how stressful it is just entering the world of programming and trying to understand some bits, with having assignments to do. Plus, we all know the way people react to things when you tell them about being able to make money somewhere, their first thought is likely a SCAM, and if likely they join, they may not take it likely serious.
I decided to make the move by telling someone about Hive. I just can't stay in one place and see a nice article written by someone without telling them about another place that I love as well. So what I just had to was to tell him he could also write on Hive Blog and also monetize his content, that he is free to make his own research and if he thinks it is something he can do, he should get back to me and I would walk him through the first few steps. I also told him to check my profile and that I have been on Hive for the past 4 years in case he thinks I want to introduce him to anything Scam related.
One thing in Nigeria is that everyone is careful because almost everyone has experience with online scams and they don't want to repeat such mistakes. That is why bringing someone you meet online to Hive is quite a tough thing to do not to talk about teaching and guiding the person through the process. Although it would not be as tough for me because it is something I have done many times, the only challenge I face is blending my schedules with theirs and how much energy they give to me.
I would take this slow, inviting each developer friend I meet on the space, actually not everyone I meet because I have come to understand that Hive is not for everyone. I would just monitor for a way and place some thoughts if the person can do Hive or not before I bring anybody. I am quite tired of bringing someone to Hive and then after all my energy in the mentorship they end up sliding away. It deeply hurts!
Asides from that, we would have more programmers in this beautiful community. I believe this would increase the number of posts in this community as I bring in more developers. Also, the joy of being an OCD onboarder is being able to support them through their first 3-4 months on Hive. Special thanks to @acidyo and the OCD team for the opportunity!

We'd definitely need more content creators in the programming community but also some active curators who know what they're curating. I've been on the lookout for active ones but it's hard to find as they're usually just busy programming themselves.
Yeah. I noticed that, and somehow I am surrounded by programmers who write about their journey on Hash node when they can also write on Hive.
Just finding a way to chip in Hive to them one at a time... Hopefully I can get a good amount of people in the community and maybe after, I could apply to be a curator.
And to find those active curators is very key. They'll know exactly what to look for in the community and its members and determine quality and excellent posts.
Because programming isn't something to just give a look at and simply determine that it if good quality and effort.
And also, having the active curators is very important, so as to keep the active members encouraged. Which will all the more be of much value to the Hive ecosystem.

Then, on boarding developers to Hive such an excellent idea. I mean, think of the potential developers that can add so much value to Hive??
The creators of these frontends are humans na. I actually know it's not something easy to accomplish, I mean the front ends, especially with blockchain technology involved.
I have also observed that the Programming & Dev community is is inactive. And I just guessed that it must have been because of their super tight schedules and busy lives.
It'll be great to have them here. Especially with the concept of imparting knowledge too.

Yeah it is not easy to be writing when you spend most of your time writing codes. Since I started my journey learning web development, being on Hive is not easy for me but because it is something I am used to. It is quite an involuntary muscle when I carry my phone to check what's up on hive. Plus I have onboarded users I check daily.
Edited: Also that header photo took me almost 1hr to make. I spent more time thinking and virtualizing what I want and trying to bring it to life. I guess you can relate since you are my boss in this line.

Sometimes, I feel like resorting to some image on the net. But when I think of how any other individual could have used that same image, I just remember how less original my post will become.
Wow, it will be really nice to have more programmers on board, it will help many like me 🙈 learn about it. I hope your new friends get to see the light in whatever you tell them about hive.
The ocd crew are really of great help to all the newbies you've introduced and I'm sure it has helped them in so many ways for them to stand strong on their own. You are just one good person I know 🤭.

I know about a friend who's a programmer, he has an account already but he's not really active on the Blockchain and this is probably because of how he's caught up learning how to code and bettering himself as well. It's not easy to manage one's time efficiently, especially with how you're doing it effectively, qudos, may the hustle keep paying.

Yeah exactly.. I think your friend thinks that his main career is programming and staying here just to spend so much time engaging alone would not add value to his career. So that is why he does not take Hive seriously. Plus starting here is a struggle; a programmer that has a deadline to a job would not have time to face that struggle.
