Reconnecting with Hive Friends over Christmas: A Memorable and Expensive Experience"
One of the most hopeful moments of the year is always Easter and Christmas, and the reason is that I get to meet my friends who we have not only connected on Hive, but are now friends in the real world.
This meetup is the second year that it has happened, and we meet twice a year. Every time we meet, it is always full of fun, joy, and laughter. However, almost every time, we always have issues with the location we meet. In particular, the location sells things at very inflated prices.
This happened last year in December, and we were forced to leave the location at that very instant. However, this December, we decided to bear the expenses. One of the most shocking inflations was the price of table water, which is usually $0.13 (100 naira) per bottle, but was sold at $2 (1500 naira) per bottle. As we saw the price, the reaction on our faces made us scream: "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
Look closely at the table water in the picture above. Let's not even talk about the price of Fayrouz. I'll leave it for you to guess the price of the Fayrouz.
The reason why we stayed instead of leaving…
Deep down, what really made us stay even with the inflated prices was because of how beautiful the restaurant was. It had a good feel that was great for taking pictures.
At first, we thought of leaving the place, but instead, we were caught by how beautiful the pictures turned out to be. Plus, the stress of moving to a new location and deciding where to go was something we didn't want to take on.

Personally, I had one of the best moments of the year with these guys. We spent time discussing and catching up with each other. We spoke about how last year was booming for all of us and how challenging this year has turned out to be.
We spoke about our losses and what we had learned this year. We shared plans for what we hope for the next year and how to take advantage of every opportunity that comes our way.

The funniest moment of the meetup...
While we were discussing, I can't remember how the word "BDSM" came out, but I was the only one who didn't seem to know what it meant, and I was forced to check the meaning on Google since none of the guys told me the meaning.

I figured since we have Google, I can check the meaning myself. Lo and behold, I was surprised by what BDSM meant. You can see how surprised I look in the image below...

Given how expensive things were, we didn't want to spend a lot, so we bought a tray of fish with fried chips, which cost $10 each. It was today that I knew @josediccus is a foodie as well. He took the piece of fish that I cut and ate more fish than I did. I felt cheated, but it was fine.
I grew uncomfortable using a fork to eat and decided to use my hands to eat in public. I'm not a shy person, as since it's my money, I can even lick my plate of food in public regardless of where I am. I have literally no shame at all.

We talked about relationships, and @ksam seemed to be the only man among the four of us who was engaged. So we tried not to talk about too many bad things so as not to distract a soon-to-be-married man, but somehow Ksam seemed to be the most exposed of us. He even understood every code word we said, even more than I did.

The Great personality of Josediccus
The first time I laid eyes on @josediccus was April last year, and boy was I in for a treat! Not only was he handsome and intelligent, but he was also incredibly friendly and wise. It was his charming personality that really drew us in, as we discovered that we shared some similar qualities. And talk about a jokester! Josediccus had us in stitches all day with his hilarious jokes. You'd never guess it by looking at him on Hive, but this guy is a total comedian. The Influential @k-banti
How could I have almost forgotten to mention the amazing @k-banti? Just because he may not be as active in blogging on Hive doesn't mean he's not constantly keeping an eye on what's happening. In fact, we've been encouraging him to jump back into the blogging game and boost his presence once more. With his talent for photography and video-making, he's definitely got the skills to succeed. Plus, he was the one who initially sparked my interest in video editing and Canva – he's truly a mentor to me, and someone I've always admired since the day I joined Hive.

I really had an enjoyable moment, and it was worth every single penny and second, so far as it was for rebuilding connections with my friends. I love them all and can't wait to meet them again next year at Easter.

Yeaaaaaaahhhhh yeaaaaaaahhhhh. Like, the place was expensive though. I felt cheated when I knew we'd paid like 2$ for water. Those guys did us dirty as well, but it was a beautiful place.

I like to sincerely bless God for your friendships, it's literally the best ever for me. @k-banti might not be loud, but he's a great man, we hustled a lot back in the days, he's one of the most compassionate person I've ever known, I hope we can get to build things more as we grow older in life and I'm happy he's getting things done in his life.
