SCHOOL, DEGREE AND MONEY || The Infinite Possibilities the Internet has to Offer!!!

The reason why people go to school is to obtain a degree, and why do they need a degree? so they can get a good job that can provide the money they are looking for. Everything boils down to be in search of money but the question is, is getting a degree the only way into wealth creation?

I read a post by a brother of mine @josediccus titled "Time, Priority and Money (Part 2)" where he talked about a similar situation. In my country, there are relatively small amount of available jobs compared to the number of unemployed graduates on the street and I still ask myself this question, is getting a degree enough for wealth creation?

In 2018, when I finished my ND (National Diploma) program and was having another 2 years left to finish with school. I realized how close two years was before I would be out to the world with an HND certificate (Higher National Diploma). I knew the situation of the country and was afraid I may end up being another graduate on the street in search of a job.

I knew I would have to fend for myself with lesser support from my parents but I wasn't ready to go out to the world. This is the reason I decided to increase my years of study by applying for a direct entry into a University and adding an extra year 4 years before I can finish up with school.

I guess you might be thinking I chose school and degree. The truth is, I only wanted to buy some time into building my skills and putting lesser concentration into studies. I am not after being a first class student or neither after failing my courses but only after being averagely good in all aspects.

Today, there are numerous graduates on the street with first class degree but yet they don't have much skills to back it up or neither do they have a side hustle. This is definitely the reason why many of them are on the street and I am trying my best not be in that category.

Luckily for me, I found Hive steem in 2018 which I neither knew would be something that would make a difference in my life today. I never thought there was a possibility one can make money through the internet, and saw everything as scam. Presently, I now see infinite possibilities through the internet.

The internet provides one numerous means of acquiring certain skills while studying without having to leave the 4 corners of your room. Everything has gone virtual and quite easier, wither it is learning the guitar, learning programming, video editing or photography.

Coming back to me, as I am schooling (probably still the next 2-3years), my primary goal is definitely not my degree but having a skill to rely on after school; building my hive account is one of them and would definitely pick up something else along the way as well.

Well formatted and aesthetic post buddy. Truth is, it's the priorities that matters, hopefully you'll be done soon and you can actually build those skills that you'll need to have a financially comfortable future. The priority is in those skills.

Taking the time to diversify your skills and gain life experience may just pay off ;-) Best of luck with the studying; it's a privilege open to few and you should make the most of your time at University, but I do hear you and sounds like you have your head screwed on properly lol.

I can relate to the situation which is being encountered by many of my country fellows too. Degree but no job.
In this scenario earning experience is much worthy and you are on the perfect way.

I hope you will achieve all the stuff you have wanted; working since 2018🤩 nice to know this.

Acquiring theoretical knowledge with no skill is null and void in today's labour market. Though most companies gives presidence to certifications but more priority to the technocrats. Hence, the need to acquire and refine one's skill to the latest.

Great content @starstring01, it's good you've made a good template for yourself. Sky is definitely not the limit here but rather your starting point. Kudos👍!

Yeah you gave a good input there. Many companies look after certificate but the truth is the skill the person has would determine if they would stay doing the job or be sent away..

(Edited)

Definitely that's to say that certificate might only earn one the job he/she wants but what will sustain such a person in position depends on the level of his/her "Skill/dexterity".

Most of the time the degree doesn't give you the chance to work on what you have studied for so many years. Nowadays in my country, you get more money as a "delivery guy" instead of a mid-class engineer. Sad, but true..
