Surviving a Hectic Weekend || The Beginning of a New Week

Weekends are meant to be for rest after going through quite a lot of stress during the week, but this last week was quite the opposite for me. Let me take you through how it went shortly.

It all started this Friday, when I had a night rehearsal for a Christmas programme at church. I actually didn't want to go to the rehearsal because I knew how choky it would be for me as I had a meeting schedule on Saturday at 9 p.m. the next day, but due to how important the night rehearsal was and considering that I wouldn't be around next week for the next night rehearsal, I had to consider being present for this particular rehearsal.

This happened to be an unaware picture taken by my friend Sam during one of the nights. I remember during the rehearsals that he was taking a video of me while I was playing the guitar, but I never knew he took a picture as well.

During this time of the rehearsal, I was just forcing myself to go through, as I was tired already. We ended the rehearsal after 2 a.m. before I had to go to rest.

I went home first thing after the day was bright, around 6 a.m., so that I would get home in time and get myself prepared for the meeting. After arriving home past 7 a.m., instead of going straight to bed, I had to create content for Hive, as I knew that there was no way I would have time if I went straight to bed or if I waited till after my meeting.

I made sure to shoot the video and thereafter edit it within the 2 hours space left before the meeting I had by 9 p.m. I initially thought the meeting would end at the latest by 11 p.m., but it went as far as 1 p.m.

The meeting was an online class in a 5-week coding class I registered for. Not that I really needed the coding class, as I am very familiar with it, but I wanted their certificate so that I could add it to my portfolio and also get to build relationships with people I get to meet.

The live meeting was very interesting, as my attendance at these meetings counts towards my overall score after the whole programme, which I didn't want to miss out on.

I spent about 4-5 hours moving from house to house without getting a complete 6 hours of sleep. I was tired, but I had no choice, and at the end, I could not find what I was looking for.

Immediately after getting home, I took a short nap before escorting Pearl out. On getting back home, I was happy to see that the plumber who was meant to fix the pumping machine in my apartment was around.

For 3 weeks plus, there had not been water in the apartment, and it had been a frustrating experience for me. I didn't have any choice but to assist the plumber in working on the borehole. I really needed water in the house, and it was more important than any sleep I could get.

We were able to finish up by 9 p.m., which was the time I was able to give myself rest on Saturday.

I happened to wake up at 5 a.m. on Sunday to prepare for church service, arrived at church at 7 a.m., and stayed all through till the service ended at 10 a.m. Due to rehearsals, I had to stay back at church till 1 p.m. before heading home.

This was the period I finally had to rest. I got home and slept till the evening, having not eaten anything through the whole day. When I woke up, I was too tired to cook, so I settled for biscuits and energy drinks so that I could complete some of the pending work I had left to do.

One of them was the announcement of Monday's hangout topic, publishing the post through Baby Panda and tweeting about it on the Hive Learners Twitter account. I had to quickly do all these within the short period of time left.

And now, another weekday is here, filled with activities. I am not complaining about my life, but I am grateful for everything. No good thing comes easy.
