Unexpected Surprises: A Memorable Birthday Celebration

My birthday well wishes did not start just yesterday, but two days ago in the Hive Learners community Hangout, where I received a lot of wishes from friends on Hive. It was a good way to start my birthday. On my actual birthday, yesterday, I happened to be writing two exam papers for courses that were each 3 units. They were both calculation courses, and I had no plans for how to celebrate my day.

The only plans I made were to look good for my exams and then come back home. The first exam went well, and I did my best, but due to the amount of time I spent studying, my brain was too weak for the second exam and I was having a headache and chest pain just before entering the exam hall. I tried to do my best on the second paper, but I was not in my full mental state, as nature was trying to make me sleep because I had not given myself enough rest.

I got home worn out and only felt like sleeping the next day because of how tired I was. I planned to reply to my birthday wishes on Hive and WhatsApp later after I had rested well. There were no plans for a cake, no plans for going out to eat or enjoy, it was supposed to be just like a normal day. I even thought to myself that this birthday wasn't really feeling like a birthday to me.

I had taken off my clothes and was lying on my bed about to sleep, almost wearing nothing when I received a call from a bike messenger who said I had a package from someone and wanted to know my location. I was thinking, what package could this be and who would have sent it to me. The bike messenger came and dropped off the package and when I opened it, I found out it was perfume. With the inscription on it, I was wondering who could be my secret admirer in this school.

I first thought it might have been sent by my girlfriend, but @chosenfingers said it wasn't her, as she knows where I am. Then I thought it might be my childhood friend, as she is the second person I have a very close relationship with, aside from my girlfriend, but it wasn't her either. So, I put it aside until I find out who my secret admirer was.

I didn't know @creativepearl was also planning something for me as well. She had earlier called @chosenfingers and said she was coming over with a surprise, so I wouldn't go out or be unavailable to receive the surprise. Not too long after I received the packaged perfume, Pearl came in with a cake! I was very, very surprised, I was never expecting a cake from anywhere or even thought at all that there would be a cake at all. The smile on my face seeing Pearl and @drama.queen was indescribable.

Too bad I wasn't wearing nice clothes and wasn't at my place to change into something nicer. I just took pictures with the cake in what I was wearing. Due to exams, I've gone lean.

My birthday took an unexpected turn for the better when my loved ones came to spend the whole evening with me. I was feeling weak after a grueling day of exams, but their presence and the surprise from my darling @creativepearl, turned my tired evening into a night to remember.

As the night came to a close, one question lingered in my mind: who sent the perfume? The mystery had kept me guessing all evening, but my dear Pearl finally revealed that she had been the secret admirer all along. She had played along, denying it was her, to add an element of surprise to the evening. And what a surprise it was. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect birthday celebration.
