99%

I think we often take many things for granted. It's too easy. It makes the value of actions, words, and intentions blur too much. The loss of reality is imperceptible, and the return to it seems mythical. For the time being...

Nothing is 100%.

Yesterday I heard a story again in which another lucky guy was complaining about his luck. Of the two times, 75% in his favor did not fall out even once.

I was cheated!

He said. In all seriousness. And it wouldn't have been surprising if he hadn't said it. He's been lucky as long as we've known him, with my brother. His luck bypassed our double work when it seemed unrealistic. He didn't essentially do anything for it. He just repeated after us. With laziness and sometimes complete reluctance. That made our amazement all the greater each time. Isn't that lucky?

I forgot about it yesterday, but I came back to the story again today. What makes us think that 99% is almost ironclad certain? Or that 1% is definitely unrealistic?

In his case, when he gets a 5% chance day in and day out, anything higher is 100%. He has accepted it as a given. His world is 100% of that luck, the rest is considered an anomaly. A bug, an error in the matrix. In my world, it's very different...

Does it work the other way around?

After all, this world is really inside our heads. Theoretically, if I convince myself 100%, sincerely, that I'm lucky. I have everything I need. Everything I want and so on is drawn to me... Will it work? It has to work! In fact, it even worked for me sometimes. But maybe it was that 1%.

Most things in our lives will never happen again, so calculating the percentage probability just doesn't make sense. It either works at the moment or it doesn't. And we either attach great importance to it, or we don't. But we move on. And it's better to do it with a clear head, a cheerful mood, and an open mind for the next day and the next step. After all, even in the casino, the ball falls on red or black 20 times in a row. Life doesn't stop there. ^{(Unless your house is in the opposite sector)}

And I don't stop and count the percentages.

We do take a lot for granted. We only realize it when something bad happens. We realize it, we understand it, and we accept it... Until we get back to the point where all the bad stuff goes away again. And so it happens again and again. Every time.

There is no 100%. No one is promised 100% of anything. It will always be 99 out of 100. Even when it seems different. And it's better to be prepared for it. Not just know and hope. But to hope and be ready to move on... Life is very unpredictable.

I once poured a drink for a guy at a bar when I was bartending.^{(What have I been in my life)} It was midnight. He and his wife had been at the slot machines for about 6 hours. I asked him how they were doing. He drank and looked at me with sad and tired eyes. I had never seen such pain before.

We lost our apartment today.

It's on me. I answered when I caught my breath...

And that's 100% true.
