Be sound, do not pollute !

Villages are alwsys considered to be a peace ful place. My village was a great example to it, being located in the midst of nature, it is a wonferful place to br. During my childhood days, I always find my village a differrnt world, no traffic, no crowd, no noises etc. People mind their own work, every ocassion celebrated with calmness and pescefully, and life goes by like this. Even when I was at work (in city), I always prefer to travel down to my village to spend some peaceful quality time than city chaos and loudness.

But how much it is true in present context??

Things are changing and so does the village atmosphere. What used to be a quite peaceful place has now ocassionaly turns into buzzing place. Where any celebration was limited to low volume musical instruments or folks song which produces less noises has now replaced with loud DJ's.

Did I just said DJ??? 🤔 ..

.....well to clarify the village DJ are not the one we see in city music festivals or at discos .... here it means, multiple loudspeakers approx 6-8 and sometime 10 loaded and tied one after the another on a mini truck or tractor and playing loud music. It certainly is capable of making any peaceful place very noisy. So does it happens at my village, Causing immence nuisance, irritation and discomfort. Sometime it makes unbearable to hear. The quiter village has now becomes too noisy for people. While those having function st home used to enjoy, dances to the different dj tunes but they are not aware they are risking their hearing ability by exposing themselves to such high pitch noise. Even such loud noise may end up with heart stroke, hearing issue and other heslth pfoblemd. Along with this they also causing lot of ruckus and problems to other people.

We have a hearing limitation!

Every human being has certain limitation when it comes to hearing. The hearing ability range is a description of the pitches and loudness levels a person can hear before feeling discomfort. This hearing range or limitation is called the audible range. Anything above the limit is going to harm us or create discomfort. I think it is 50 decibal.

Moat of the time the situation were such that weget handicapped as we unable to interfere in other celebration and prefer to remain silent.

Cozy City Neighbours

"No man should live where he can hear his neighbor's dog bark". -Nathaniel Macon

The city lifestyle is completslly different. Here are certain laws in place which prevent playing loud music late at night. But we have other situation to cope up with. Neighbours always plays an important role in peaceful life. I remember I often woke up because of unwanted sounds at night. Thanks to the tenant who lives above our floor.

Sound becomes unwanted when it either interferes with normal activities such as sleeping, conversation, or disrupts or diminishes one's quality of life.

They alwsys make some kinds of sounds that cause irritation and makes life miserable to peacefully live. Recently, when I visited my home in city. I had to wake up middle of the night, only because there was shouting and noises from home next door. It was the birthday celebration so late without bothering of the well being of other neighbouring residents. Such things does irritate anybody, but for the sake of good human being and good neighbours we cannot pinpoint openly. Unless and untill they have their own self-realization.

Neighbours Rules!

There are many other noises that sometime we regret to having such neighbours. Noise created by banging doors and footfalls on hard floors are very common. Such noises are more difficult to address because those type of noise were structure borne and radiates through the fabric of the building. If such noise is a problem, your neighbour could be unaware of it unless they can hear your doors as well. Life in a city is alwsys full of noises and sounds. Go out of your 4X4 room and ear will surrounded by heavy noises. Honking, shouting, noises are very common in cities. The omly place where a person can find serene peace are their homes. But that too is not guaranteed. Unless and untill you have a good caring neighbours or living in a peaceful area.

Noise pollution from neighbours surrounds us most of the time — from the clanging of vessels, yelling sounds to your neighbours loud music and to the honking of cars. When you find them disturbing or stopping you feel comfortable, try to discuss it with them if you can. If that doesn't work there are other ways you can ask them to stop.

There are alwsys a peaceful way to resolve any issue.

But before going out for complain, ranting or talking with your neighbours. It is good to look at yourself first. May be they have similar instances or problem to share. Human being find it easier to put blame on others but forget to look inside. Make sure what you are expecting from others, you serves them same thing too.

Peace!!

You are like me :) I also prefer to live in the village rather than city, city life is pollution pull, it is fast and it also is selfish, no body cares for you. Let me give you example of where I am living currently, WE Neighbors don't even know the names of each other.

You are right, villages are also changing, now are seeing hell a lot of noise pollution there, may they are trying to copy the life style of the cities.

India is by far the most noisy place I have ever been in my life. I can't wait to go back, but a big, big reason not to is the noise. I remember going to this lovely nature resort near Rishikesh and the guy was saying 'oh it's the most peaceful place' and we were so relieved because the night before we had no sleep because there was jackhammers going on the street til 3 am. Anyway the night was full of dogs barking, rain on the tin roof, roosters starting at 4 am, a party in the village. He asked us in the morning if we slept well because it was so lovely and quiet. We didn't have the heart to tell him no. 😂 even my noise cancelling headphones don't seem to work in India 😂😂😂

I agree with you on villages being peaceful back in the day, but now everyone and everything is evolving and it's almost as if there's no quiet place anymore. I also pass through the same noise issue here but like you said, before complaining, let's look at ourselves first and that was what I did and realized that I too do cause some noise pollution every now and then 😅.
