Sojourner’s Serendipity – Life in a Public Transport
I never had my own vehicle, until I switch my citylife to village. Now I owned one only because there are very less transport options available for conveyance. And I have to use my own vehicle to travel to meet the requirement.
When I was in City (New Delhi – Capital of India) I never felt use of owning even single one in all my time spent over there (rather few decades). While I was working, the company look after the conveyance, and while I was studying, I made use of the Public Transport. And for meeting my personal requirement ever, I again prefer the public transport or my foot. I think Public transport is the most under-rated transport system in India. Public transport generally includes, City busses, Metro / subway trains, or trains for longer route or passenger trains.

While people look out for their own space in private vehicle, they have often missed out on the benefits of travelling in public transport. Which is rather quite cheaper and convenient mode than owning and opertinng a Car. Ther are instances that people with private vehicle find themselves stuck in traffic jams in rush hours. But thanks to dedicated bus lanes and bus priority measure, you never have to sit back and wait. Few other benefits include, that you wont need to worry about finding parking spots, or you can save gas and money by opting for public transport. And above all, I always find public transport a good entertainment and loving place.
My Memories
The best part of using the public transport is that it allows me to make more friends and know people far better way. I always observe people behaviour and try to implement good things in life while always stay from bad things. There are many memories from the past experiences that still bring smile on my face. Having fun in public busses while going to college, little bullyness, little naughtiness. There was everything. Likewise, travelling in trains give us a different experience.
Train (not referring to metro or subways) are always a preferred mode of transport when it comes to cover longer distance.
A train journey creates an aura that cannot be experienced with other types of journeys

I happen to use trains many a times to visit my village and then going back. I loved the way people behave inside train. Infact some time it transform into a good political battle ground. It was like People of different places were confined to a train compartment to bring a political turnaround. Each of them have own perception and views. Listening to them is always fun. Sometime the topic of discussion is on other subject too. There is always a different atmosphere, in sleeper class, while opposite in AC coaches where people always remain silent and mind their own.
Rent-free Experience.
I have many experience to talk about especially tavelling on train. Making friends, to getting nostalgic in a toy train enroute to Shimla to helping the needy people. But recently I have a very intense expeirince, which will going to last long. It was my last month travel to Kedarnath. I boarded one of the passenger train to Haridwar.
On a hot and humid afternoon, travelling in a non AC coaches really going to take a toll. To add on to our woes there was huge rush that day, than usual. (I had travelled that train before too).
Haridwar is pilgrimage location in India and you can expect lot of visitor round the year. But that day seems to be special with our coaches over crowded. There were few groups travelling, and each of groups had 10-15 member. All of them were from the Gujrat, (part of western India). For a moment I felt like I was travelling in a different train. I was kind of isolated in middle of all of them. I sat on my reserved seat. But the best thing about Gujrati is that they are very friendly and open hearted person. As the train left the platform, the coached echoed with loud spur on and cheers. It gave me a little goosebumps.

All the passenger shouted the gods name to begin their journey.
That is the real fun of travelling in groups. They live and lit up the whole atmosphere. The excitement does not ended here. Soon the entire group started to sing hymn and chanting. What I was feeling like sidelines now started to enjoy with them. Two of the ladies sitting next to me, offered me some home made guju delicies and soon I was one of them. It did not take much to mingle with them and enjoying. We took selfies, we sang few songs together and chanted uninamously. It was complete fun, few of the kids started dancing in whatever little space they found. A Public transpirt has become a home of few of the Indians.

What used to be a 5 hrs journey, started getting shorter with the passage of time. And in all the time I never felt sidelined. Before we deboarded the train at Haridwar, the train again echoed with gods salutation. Giving a goosebumps to all. That specific moment and experince will remajn with me forever. I never going to have buzzing experience ever again. Ever get a chances, I would love to live it again, with same enthusiasm, joy, intensity and energy. Such things happens rarely.
There are few cons too of travelling in public transport. Like over crowdness, chaos and rush etc. So make your own choice accordingly.
Peace!!

Public transport will always be a good place to connect and meet people. Both the ones who will make meaningful impact and the crazy ones. Traveling in group is fun, especially when the members of the group are free with each other and willing to mingle. It's always fun!
