Got a Surprise Visit From My Best Friend

Yesterday my best friend surprised me!
Dimi is my best friend we were classmates since kindergarten but out friendships began when we were around 18 months old since our parents were acquainted and our parents house are close. Now Dimi left Greece in 2016 first he went to Amsterdam and then in 2017 he went to Berlin were he is currently living! He was always a bit crazy , spontaneous and most of all a man who could change views in an instant 😂😂 He initially left to work since Greece after the 2010 crisis had a huge unemployment and the ones working were underpaid, he then decided to get a degree but realised that working full time abroad and paying to study was really hard so he the again decided to just work and party a lot 😂 He loves the underground party life of Berlin. I do too by the way even if i just tried it once and not on dimis scale.
I usually meet with dimi once a Year when he comes for 3-4 days to see his parents and friends. As you have guessed he came yesterday without telling me and woke me up at 10 o’clock to go for breakfast the lunch then for some beers and a lot of walking in the meantime.

For breakfast i had some quiche lorraine eggs. Dimi had croquet monsier eggs
Later we went for a walk in the city's centre and for lunch at a traditional tavern with great meat and some retsina i only took pictures of the startes because we started drinking and forgot 😂

A plate with a variety of Greek cheeses and cold meat, salty cake variety of breads , Horta salad and tirokauteri.The was port ribs , kontosouvli and pork souvlaki.

The best part of the day was meeting with the whole gang of childhood friends. Even if you talk with your best friends on the phone or video call, meeting in person is the best feeling!

Dimi will visit Athens for the weekend and will return for one more so I might have some more food pictures and some childhood story to share!!
