Spending The Night At A Tend In 2550m Altitude

Yesterday, I had an experience that I'll likely remember for the rest of my life. It's one of those moments that etch themselves into your memory as something truly special. While it may not be as monumental as some might imagine, it's a pursuit that not many undertake, especially as a hobby.

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I enjoy going on trips and sometimes even camping outdoors to deepen my connection with nature. Stepping outside of your comfort zone, even if only for a few hours or days, can lead to a profound sense of self-discovery and contentment.

In our modern era, where access to comforts like a cozy home, internet, smartphones, TV, and hot meals is widespread, venturing into the wilderness holds a special significance. It's a departure from the norm, a personal challenge, and a testament to one's ability to thrive amidst simplicity.

So, yesterday, a group of friends and I embarked on a journey to Mount Olympus to spend the night there and explore one of Greece's most breathtaking trails. Mount Olympus, the tallest mountain in Greece, offers unparalleled views that showcase the natural beauty of the country. It was an adventure filled with awe-inspiring landscapes and unforgettable moments shared with great company.

Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. It is part of the Olympus massif near the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea, located in the Olympus Range on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, between the regional units of Larissa and Pieria, about 80 km (50 mi) southwest from Thessaloniki. Mount Olympus has 52 peaks and deep gorges. The highest peak, Mytikas (Μύτικας Mýtikas), meaning "nose", rises to 2,917.727 metres (9,572.60 ft). It is one of the highest peaks in Europe in terms of topographic prominence.
In Greek mythology, Olympus is the home of the Greek gods, on Mytikas peak. The mountain has exceptional biodiversity and rich flora. It has been a National Park, the first in Greece, since 1938. It is also a World Biosphere Reserve.
Olympus remains the most popular hiking summit in Greece as well as one of the most popular in Europe. Organized mountain refuges and various mountaineering and climbing routes are available.

We didn't go to the top because it still has a lot of snow there and of course it is quite dangerous so we went to the Christaki refuge that is situated at an altitude of 2550 meters high .
