The News

It looks like cryptocurrency in general took a hit this week and $HIVE was not spared. It is not too major though. $HBD stayed stable.

Prices

Meanwhile a load of people powered up for HPUD, including myself and many friends. Of course it may have been cheaper to do so this month, but we are locking up funds and so have to have some faith that the price will improve. I am not so interested in short term gains.

I have been thinking that too many discussions about Hive happen on closed platforms such as Discord. Many of those could be public and be done via Hive posts (possibly in communities), Threads or the peakd chat. With the first two you can be earning if people vote up what you say.

Chat

Friday Follows

  • @bobburnquist is a top skateboarder who uses the @skatehive dapp. He has verified himself by retweeting this.
  • @nicklewis is building a sound library that could be useful to musicians and those wanting things for backing music or effects.
  • My friend @steve-o2023 is getting ready for an epic motorbike trip.
  • @stickupboys are doing lots for musicians on Hive. They have a big curation account and you can earn by delegating to it.
  • @eddiespino had his Twitter account suspending for unclear reasons. That can happen at any time on corporate plaforms, but not on Hive. Even on Mastodon you can be blocked by whoever runs the server you use. That creates extra hassle in moving your account and most people will not run their own server.

These people get a share of the post rewards.

The Doghouse

I heard that someone was charging people to create Hive accounts and then abusing those accounts as they had the keys. It is possible to get an account for free. I can claim lots and will give them away. You just have to ask. If anyone on Hive is asking for payment then you need to be sure what you are getting.

The End

I will be generating the #BritList tomorrow. The last month has flown by. If anyone knows the owners of @the-ruddy or @serpentines then please suggest they post something to verify that they are in the UK. They have yet to post anything, so I cannot reply to them. Some people are not so honest about their location. If you know others in the UK who have not been active recently then give them a nudge as it helps the numbers to have more active users.

Have a great weekend and Hive five!

We need to get the word out about this. It will depend on where they first learn about Hive.

That's pretty bad that they were not giving over the keys. Those people should be banned from the platform. It's just a horrible look for us. Literally no excuse to be such a twat.

You're most welcome. I like to see the music community building things.

A friend of mine is trying to join Hive, and it's been a while since I went through the process, he said that the only option for him was to pay a 5er for it, is there still an option to create an account for free or has that been done away with? Because I didn't pay when creating mine.

If someone has enough HP they can claim account tokens and create them for people for nothing. I have loads. It does mean sending them the keys, but then they can change them.

There are other ways, some of which are free.
