Morning Run: Silent Running

I just finished a 5.412km running that lasted about 0hh:31mm:25ss !

Yesterday my phone would not boot up and I have not managed to fix it. I was thinking it was time for a new one anyway as it is a few years old. So I ran without my usual podcasts today. That felt a little odd, but I was still going to run.

I was overdue for some hill sprints, so it was off to West Drive again. It was freezing out there with a frosty coating over everything.

I went off fairly hard each time, but always get slower as I go on. At least I am peaking well under 5min/km. I was walking some of the way back each time. That is not a problem as I need to recover for the next sprint.

There was more traffic than usual up there today with several vehicles passing me. There is not a huge amount of room, but it is safe to run there. There were a fair few walkers too, many with dogs.

It is a good thing my new phone arrived today (only ordered last night) or I would not have been able to download my run from my Garmin watch. I will post about the phone once I have played with it some more.

My feet are still not 100%, but I can still run. I want to get back to parkrun on Saturday to get on with getting to fifty events. I only have a few to go.

Run free and stay well.

Nice job on your run! I wasn't feeling it this morning, but I got up anyway and I did a short workout. I had thrown my back the other day and I wanted to take it easy lest I hurt it even more.

Need to be very wary of back injuries as they can totally lay you out. Take it easy and recover.

Yeah, I have been lucky that I haven't needed a trip to the chiropractor in quite some time. I think a lot of that has to do with me being more active and exercising, but I still know I need to take it easy.

I would imagine the cold air made you run a little quicker. LOL. We never realize how much we rely on our phones until they are taken away. Looks like you had a productive run anyhow and maybe got some good thinking time in instead of listening to the podcast. Hopefully you have some great ideas after that run. If not I am sure you worked up a appetite. I remember that happening to me every time I went running.

Very cold here too. It was 6°F this morning and is heading back down around 14°F tonight. It warmed up to about 24°. I’m ready for summer! Lol.

I find I get tunes going round in my head and sometimes get ideas for songs. I do not mind it too much when it is around freezing, but would not want it much colder. It is not too bad around here generally.
