The dominance of cryptocurrencies is a figure that represents which are the cryptocurrencies with the most capitalization, therefore those that currently dominate the cryptocurrency market.
The market capitalization of a cryptocurrency is the total value of its coins outstanding in the market. This figure is usually referred to as the "market cap". Market capitalization is an easy way for investors to both determine the size of the current value of a blockchain project and to try to assess the risk of the investment.
Below are two rankings regarding the dominance of cryptocurrencies, stablecoins are excluded from these two rankings.

On 07 May 2023 the situation was as follows:
1-BTC: 47.18%
2-ETH: 19.28%
3-BNB: 4.24%
4-XRP: 2.01%
5-ADA: 1.12%
6-DOGE: 0.90%
7-MATIC: 0.76%

Today 24 July 2023 the dominance has changed as follows:
1-BTC: 48.60%
2-ETH: 18.82%
3-XRP: 3.23%
4-BNB: 3.11%
5-ADA: 0.92%
6-DOGE: 0.88%
7-SOLANA: 0.83%

BITCOIN
Let's go check the Bitcoin chart set to ALL.
The chart below shows us a declining dominance of BTC since 2014.
The dominance value slammed into the 40% support in December 2022 and then recovered. It is currently heading towards the dynamic resistance trend line and it seems to have crashed into it. In fact, the dominance has dropped slightly compared to mid-July, but the interesting thing will be to see if in the coming months the dominance of Bitcoin will be able to break the trend line of dynamic resistance upwards. Currently, I repeat, the dominance is following the dynamic resistance trend line and has not broken it.

ETHEREUM
The dominance of Ethereum has tended to be on the rise ever since 2015.
In 2017 (see red ellipse in the image below) the dominance of Ethereum was very similar to that of Bitcoin, then the dominance values diverged again.
If we go to draw a line that identifies the lows of Bitcoin since 2018 and we draw a line on the highs of Ethereum, we notice that in recent years they are almost two parallel lines and give the impression of never meeting. However, I do not think that this can also be considered a future scenario.
I am convinced that these two trend lines, one day, will always be closer to each other.

BNB
As for BNB, we can say that in this 2023 it has lost dominance, after having reached 5.9% dominance in December 2022, the value has continued to drop until today, and today the percentage is 3.11%
The 1% drop in a few months is unexpected for me.

XRP
The dominance of XRP has not changed much since the beginning of 2023, from 2.15% in January 2023 to the current value today which is 3.23%
Interesting how XRP has gained dominance this year. Right now XRP has a higher capitalization than BNB, which I never expected or could have predicted.

ADA
The dominance of Cardano has moved like that of XRP in recent months, i.e. it has not changed much since the beginning of 2023, from 1.07% in January 2023 it has moved to the current value today which is 0.92%
Unfortunately, since May, ADA has lost market share again and now its dominance percentage is back below the 1% threshold. This is also something I never expected.

MATIC
The dominance of Polygon is relatively low compared to the projects mentioned before and very low compared to projects like Ethereum and Bitcoin. As far as Polygon is concerned, we can say that since January 2023 it has continued to lose dominance and today it is not even among the 7 most dominant blockchains.

Conclusions
We are at 07/24/2023 and regarding the dominance of the cryptocurrency market, we can say that Bitcoin dominates this market with a current value of 48.60%. On 12 January 2023 its dominance was 39.60%, therefore in this first half of the year it rose by 9%
Also compared to January 2023, Ethereum rose slightly, while all the others taken into consideration, BNB, XRP, ADA, DOGE, MATIC all suffered a slight decline.
Another important change of this last period is the overtaking of the dominance of XRP against BNB.
To highlight the entry of SOLANA among the 7 blockchains with the most dominance by relegating Polygon to a few positions below.

Analisi
La dominanza delle criptovalute è un dato che rappresenta quali sono le criptomonete con più capitalizzazione, quindi quelle che attualmente dominano il mercato delle criptovalute.
La capitalizzazione di mercato di una criptovaluta è il valore totale delle sue monete in circolazione sul mercato. Questo dato solitamente si indica come “market cap”. La capitalizzazione di mercato è un modo semplice per gli investitori, sia per determinare le dimensioni dell’attuale valore di un progetto blockchain, sia per cercare di valutare il rischio dell’investimento.
Qui sotto ci sono due classifiche che riguardano il discorso dominanza delle criptomonete, in queste due classifiche sono escluse le stablecoin.

Il 07 Maggio 2023 la situazione era la seguente:
1-BTC: 47,18%
2-ETH: 19,28%

Oggi 24 Luglio 2023 la dominanza è cambiata come segue:
1-BTC: 48,60%
2-ETH: 18,82%
3-XRP: 3,23%
4-BNB: 3,11%
5-ADA: 0,92%

7-SOLANA: 0,83%

BITCOIN
Andiamo a controllare il grafico di Bitcoin impostato su ALL.
Il grafico qui sotto riportato ci mostra una dominanza di BTC in calo dal 2014.
Il valore di dominanza è andato a sbattere sul supporto del 40% a Dicembre 2022 e poi è risalito. In questo momento sta andando verso la trend line di resistenza dinamica e sembra che ci sia andata a sbattere. Infatti la dominanza è leggermente calata rispetto a metà Luglio, ma la cosa interessante sarà vedere se nei prossimi mesi la dominanza di Bitcoin sarà in grado di rompere al rialzo la trend line di resistenza dinamica. Attualmente, ripeto, la dominanza sta seguendo la trend line di resistenza dinamica e non l’ha rotta.

ETHEREUM
La dominanza di Ethereum è tendenzialmente sempre stata in crescita sin dal 2015.
Nel 2017 (vedi ellissi rossa nell’immagine qui sotto riportata) la dominanza di Ethereum è stata molto simile a quella di Bitcoin poi i valori di dominanza si sono di nuovo allontanati.
Se andiamo a tracciare una linea che identifica i minimi di Bitcoin dal 2018 e tracciamo una linea sui massimi di Ethereum, notiamo che in questi anni sono quasi due rette parallele e danno l’impressione di non incontrarsi mai. Non credo però che questo può essere considerato anche uno scenario futuro.
Io sono convinto che queste due trend line, un giorno, saranno sempre una più vicina all’altra.

BNB
Per quanto riguarda BNB, possiamo dire che in questo 2023 ha perso dominanza, dopo aver toccato il 5,9% di dominanza a dicembre 2022, il valore ha continuato ad abbassarsi fino ad oggi, ed oggi la percentuale è di 3,11%
Il calo dell’1% in pochi mesi è per me una cosa inaspettata.

XRP
La dominanza di XRP non è cambiata molto da inizio 2023, dal 2,15% di gennaio 2023 è passata all’attuale valore di oggi che è 3,23%
Interessante come quest’anno XRP abbia guadagnato dominanza. In questo momento XRP ha una capitalizzazione superiore a BNB, cosa che io non avrei mai previsto o potuto predirre.

ADA
La dominanza di Cardano si è mossa come quella di XRP negli ultimi mesi, cioè non è cambiata molto da inizio 2023, dal 1,07% di gennaio 2023 è passata all’attuale valore di oggi che è 0,92%
Purtroppo da maggio, ADA, ha perso ancora fette di mercato ed ora la sua percentuale di dominanza è tornata sotto la soglia dell’1%. Anche questa è una cosa che non mi sarei mai aspettato.

MATIC
La dominanza di Polygon è relativamente bassa rispetto ai progetti menzionati prima e molto bassa rispetto a progetti come Ethereum e Bitcoin. Per quanto riguarda Polygon possiamo dire che da gennaio 2023 ha continuato a perdere dominanza ed oggi non è neanche tra le 7 blockchain con più dominanza.

Conclusioni
Siamo al 24/07/2023 e per quanto riguarda la dominanza del mercato delle criptovalute, possiamo dire che Bitcoin domina su questo mercato con un valore attuale del 48,60%. Il 12 Gennaio 2023 la sua dominanza era del 39,60%, quindi in questa prima metà dell’anno è salita del 9%
Sempre rispetto a Gennaio 2023 Ethereum è salito di poco, mentre tutte le altre prese in esame, BNB, XRP, ADA, DOGE, MATIC hanno subito tutte un leggero calo.
Altro cambiamento importante di questo ultimo periodo è il sorpasso della dominanza di XRP nei confronti di BNB.
Da evidenziare l’ingresso di SOLANA tra le 7 blockchain con più dominanza rilegando Polygon a qualche posizione più in basso.

Secondo voi Bitcoin sarà sempre la criptomoneta di riferimento? Ethereum potrà raggiungere e sorpassare la dominanza di BTC?
