In the various rooms and halls you can admire ceramics from the Middle Ages, ceramics from the ancient Arabian Peninsula, ceramics from the Hellenistic era and historic ceramics from the pre-Columbian age.

Nelle varie stanze e saloni si possono ammirare ceramiche dell’epoca del medioevo, ceramiche dell'antica Penisola Arabica, ceramiche dell’epoca ellenistica e storiche ceramiche dell’età precolombiana.

This museum was established more than 100 years ago and more precisely it was founded in 1908 by Gaetano Ballardini, an art historian of Italian origin.
In 1944, during the following world war, the building suffered a heavy bombing. There were serious and irreparable losses both in the collections and in the archival material.

Questo museo fu istituito più di 100 anni fa e più precisamente fu fondato nel 1908 da Gaetano Ballardini, uno storico dell’arte di origine italiana.
Nel 1944, durante la seguente guerra mondiale, l’edificio subì un pesante bombardamento. Ci furono gravi ed insanabili perdite sia nelle collezioni che nel materiale archivistico.

This museum is internationally known and the estimate of the works preserved is around 60 thousand. The time span of these works is very wide, the oldest dates back to 4000 BC. up to the works of the present day.

Questo museo è conosciuto a livello internazionale e la stima delle opere conservate si aggira attorno a 60mila. L’arco di tempo di queste opere è molto ampio, la più antica risale al 4000 a.C. fino ad arrivare ad opere dei giorni nostri.

The internal environments have been redeveloped and the rooms and corridors are large and full of light. On an architectural level, much importance was given to capturing external light to illuminate the internal spaces.
The lines of the internal environments are straight accompanied by curves, this can be seen on the handrails and false ceilings.

Gli ambienti interni sono stati riqualificati e le stanze ed i corridoi sono ampi e pieni di luce. A livello architettonico si è data molta importanza alla cattura della luce esterna per illuminare gli spazi interni.
Le linee degli ambienti interni sono rette accompagnate da curve, questo si nota sui corrimano e sui controsoffitti.

This museum is not just a museum, in fact over time it has also become a large cultural center dedicated to ceramic art.
Inside the building there is a restoration laboratory, a library and an educational laboratory.
Every two years a contemporary art competition is organized in which you can admire modern works of art made with ceramics.
In my opinion some of these works take your breath away

Questo museo non è solo un museo, infatti è diventato con il tempo anche un grande polo culturale dedicato all’arte ceramica.
All’interno dell’edificio c’è un laboratorio di restauro, una biblioteca ed un laboratorio didattico.
Ogni due anni viene organizzato un concorso di arte contemporanea in cui si possono ammirare opere d’arte moderna realizzate con la ceramica.
Secondo me alcune di queste opere tolgono il fiato.

Visiting this museum is exciting, a dive into art and history within a modern environment with splendid lighting.

Visitare questo museo è emozionante, un tuffo nell’arte e nella storia all’interno di un ambiente moderno con una splendida illuminazione.
