Black Labradors - The ultimate dog

There's nothing quite like a black labrador.

Maud is my second labrador (pictured). She's still fairly young, having recently turned two years old. We had a challenging first 18 months with her as she was absolutely bonkers! But she turned a corner shortly after that and now she's super sweet (but still slightly bonkers!).

My first labrador was called Ellie and she was such a lovely dog. We were so sad when she passed about 7 years ago.

We also have a golden retriever right now and he's still mad at 8 years old. I do love him too but I have a real soft spot for black labs.

Maud, the black lab, is nestled up to me on the sofa as I write this. She is warm and cosy. Labradors even have a unique smell (sounds gross but honestly, if you ever own a labrador you'll know exactly what I mean!).

So yes, I'm a bit smitten with her. She's the ultimate dog.

Our fox red English lab Lucy is just shy of 18 months and still very much in the bonkers phase. Hopefully, like Maud, she’ll settle down as she gets a bit older.

I love dogs when I see them from afar but I always get scared when I move close to them because of the way they bark. Hahaha

Your dog looks so beautiful and cute. I am also very fond of keeping such things inside my house since my childhood.
