This is how to "Information War" at the critical point

(Edited)

I'm downloading this, so to have a copy if it gets memory holed by You Tube.

First thing I have to say about this is that this is brilliant.

The second thing is that it looks like the title is misleading; it looks like the cops both switched out shifts and retrenched a little bit further back, however, the fact that they backed off a bit is an indicator that they were listening.

Paraphrased

your duty is to do a moral gut check

If you listen to this whole speech, the guy is spot on re: his points. And there is no if about that...you need to listen to the speech.

  • He called out the cops on a specific bad thing they were doing
  • He also empathized with their situation

My argument has always been that #informationwar needs to be carried out in an efficient manner (see the decap link further downpage); designing your information war to affect the people with the ability to use force is crucial. In fact, if I ever get some energy back up, I can see where I would add some of his arguments to completing the following post:
Taking Suggestions for the Next Information War Post : Winning the Information War for America's Police

I'll note they did back off by 20 yards.

I know there can sometimes be value is dishonest editing of such videos, like cutting off before you see them reformed, but when the object is winning the hearts and minds of LE, this way is better

fwiw, i think the cases where dishonesty work are extremely rare

looks more they backed off than stood down, but even that is a good sign!

I'd say most of em...but that short term interest (the paycheck) is serious.

Check out the post on targeting long term interest over short term ("taking suggestions")

problem is much worse in departments controlled by democrats, tho
