The poetry of song lyrics...A message to the unbelievers...

Introduction

It is nice to reflect and share lyrics, it makes us consider what we were actually writing about. It makes us think where we were at the time and what was going on. Sometimes we don't think when we are writing lyrics, it is just in the moment.

The Song

This was a song we wrote when we just started the Stick Up Boys. It is called "Turn Me Up". Looking back on it now and reflecting on the lyrics many years later I can see what it is about. It is about us wanted to make the music we wanted to make, not the music others wanted us to make. It is not easy trying to release independent music and often does not pay very well and there were lots of people telling us not to bother.

So on reflection this is us saying to others to feck it we gonna do it anyway and we gonna be loud! It is definitely a song that shows our commitment to what we were starting. Here looking back and still making music as the Stick Up Boys shows the resolve that we put into this song. It was definitely a turning point in our lives and what we were going to do.
