As the title of this post says,

Hello, 2021!

It's already the fifth day of the year but that won't stop me from making my New Year art. I had an image I wanted to draw to celebrate New Year but the level of unmotivation I am currently feeling made me settle for a simple one. Since most of the drawings I made in 2020 were fan arts, particularly the musicians that I like, I decided to make a drawing consisting of my top three favorite.

Top left to right: LiSA, Su-metal, Moa-metal

Bottom left to right: Tomoya, Toru, Taka, Ryota

My top three musicians for 2020 are LiSA,** BABYMETAL** (Su-metal and Moa-metal), and ONE OK ROCK (Tomoya, Toru, Taka, and Ryota). They are all Japanese, by the way. If you haven't heard their music yet, maybe give it a try. :)

Going back to the drawing, I was too lazy to draw bodies and so I just drew each of them holding a paper which when combined, forms the words, "HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021".

There is a reason why I made them hold that certain word or number.

I made LiSA hold the word "HAPPY" because with the popularity and success she is reaping right now, I know she is super happy. 2020 was a very successful year for her. Marriage, plus her songs for the anime Demon Slayer went so popular and made history in the Japan music scene. LiSA is one of the brightest stars of Japan in 2020.

Next is BABYMETAL holding the papers with words "NEW" and "YEAR". I made them hold it because 2021 will be the year BABYMETAL will end their Metal Resistance era and embark to a new era. Can you see their tiny hands doing the kitsune (fox) sign in my drawing?

Then for ONE OK ROCK, I drew the members holding the numbers "2", "0", "2", and "1". I think it's fitting for them to hold the numbers because the year has four numbers and they are four members. Lol. Tomoya holds "2" because he has two children, Taka holds "0" because as he mentioned at the trailer for their online concert last October, he would rate his social life 0. Toru also holds a number "2" because there was a recent rumor that he's currently in a relationship, and "1" for Ryota because he has one child. My reasons are not that deep but at least I can relate them to the numbers. 😂

DRAWING PROCESS

This piece is just simple though it looked more cute than my previous drawings, in my opinion. ❤️ Now, this marks the beginning of another drawing journey. I made too much tiny cute drawings in 2020 and so for this year, I want to make more varied style and subject for a change, but I will still do fan arts, of course!
