SPINACH PIZZA and NEW YEAR'S EVE FOODS

Hello! This is probably my second post about New Year, but you know, New Year's Eve celebration wouldn't be complete without foods! This post could be late but it's just a week since the year had changed. 😂

I didn't have any food request and just let my family decide what we would have for the celebration. Actually, I woke up late on the 31st and the takeout foods were already delivered and the other foods were already bought by my brother.

For our New Year's Eve menu, we had the following: Spaghetti, Spinach Pizza, Chicken Spring Rolls, Puto (Rice Cake), Doughnut, Ice Cream, and Tapioca Pearls with Banana stored in an ice cream tub. Recycling ice cream tubs as food containers is a Filipino mom's kitchen hack. Haha!

The box of doughnut on the photo is mine. My family already began munching theirs when I took this photo. One of the doughnuts is still on the fridge right now, I hope I can remember to eat it tomorrow. Both of the doughnuts are chocolate flavored.

I think the spaghetti my mother cooked was special because the cheese she used was the leftover queso de bola (edam cheese) from Christmas. I don't know if this counts as a request, but while she was almost cooking, I asked her for some bits of the Christmas ham to be added. The spaghetti tasted more delicious!

Another favorite was the spinach pizza. Sorry, I wasn't able to take a photo while the pizza was still whole.

My family ordered it from a nearby city and said it was a good deal because it was on a buy one take one promo for the holidays. I thought it wouldn't taste that delicious because the appearance of it looks plain and only has cheese and some spinach. I was wrong! It tastes really really good, probably much better than the ones sold on the popular pizza fast food restaurants at malls. The cheese tasted more delicious and the crust feels light and the crunchiness is just right, unlike those pizzas which have very thick and difficult to chew crusts. It even tastes more delicious with hot sauce!

Lesson: Do not judge a pizza with its appearance and amount of toppings.

I wonder if I can get one again for my birthday. There's something addictive with pizza. Lol. I bet this pizza is popular at the city. I've never been to that city since the pandemic happened so I have no idea.

This was my plate for New Year's Eve. It was only the right amount to make myself full. :)

Then after lighting some luces at midnight, we closed the celebration with a doughnut and a cup of ice cream. The ice cream was a leftover from Christmas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! ❤️❤️❤️

Looked like really fun celebration with a lot of food. I hope that you enjoyed your feast.

Regarding the ice cream tubs, my brother actually put mine and my brothers present inside ice cream tubs haha, then my mom used them for food.

Thanks for sharing this with us and stay safe always!

Yes, I had fun eating the foods. Haha

That's a creative way of giving gifts. I want to do that too and see the receiver's reaction. Lol.

Happy New Year! :D

Yes 😃 I'm trying to find what the recipe is called but I can't find it. It's just banana, tapioca pearls, condensed milk.. not sure if I missed other ingredients. Will ask my mom later. 😆

I just got to talk to her.. These are the ingredients: tapioca pearls, banana, condensed milk, all-purpose cream, cheese, and raisin.

The tapioca pearls is 10 cups. I think the pearls were measured when it was already cooked. Then 1 condensed milk (250 ml) and 1 cream (250 ml).

Chop the cheese into tiny cubes. You can add as much sliced banana, cheese and raisin according to your preference. 😄 You can chill it before eating or you can also eat it warm.
