HIVE STRATEGY: January 2022 - Month by Month

Welcome to 2022 everyone, it is always a very exciting time of the year, everyone has had a well deserved break and we are all fresh and ready to tackle the year ahead. It seems that everyone on HIVE is also setting their goals and strategies for 2022. The inspiration for this post is actually from me reading another post on HIVE about strategies and goals for the year, to which I thought what a great idea to put something down in writing that everyone can see, to motivate me to stick to my own strategy and goals.

I love the idea that everyone has been writing about their strategies and goals for the year, it is truly inspirational. I on the other hand am going to reduce that time frame somewhat, I have decided to set my strategy for each month of 2022, starting with the month of January.

My strategy will likely be very similar each month, because that is what a strategy is right, 'a long term view of what you are setting out to achieve'. The difference being that by writing about my HIVE strategy each month, it will allow me to check in to see how I am tracking to my strategy and it will also allow me to adjust and amend my strategy slightly each month to fit in with the specific life events or plans that I have lined up for that specific month.

Ok, let's get started.

January 2022 HIVE Strategy

1. Frequent Posts

This one is a no brainer for me, to be successful on HIVE as an author you need to be active regularly. My focus for this strategy is to write at least 15 posts for the month of January 2022.

18_kook_b_a_p.jpg

That works out to be a post every second day of the month. This is my absolute must and minimum. I am also going to add a stretch target to this strategy too, the stretch target is to write a post everyday for the remaining days left in January.

2. Quality Content

This strategy is extremely important and should be at the heart of what we do here on HIVE. As with any area of business or income generation, the focus should be to offer something of value to others to which they are willing to trade their dollars for your item of value.

I treat my time here on HIVE the exact same way, I endeavour to write posts that are interesting, informative and enjoyable for my target audience, effectively offering them some value and in return they will upvote my post to the percentage or dollar amount that equals the value they believe they got from reading my post.

For those that follow my posts regularly, you will know that I am keen silver and gold coin collector, this is the niche I have formed for myself here on HIVE and for January 2022 this will remain the core of the quality content I will write about for this month.

3. Expand My Audience

As I just mentioned above, my current niche on HIVE is writing about my silver and gold coin collecting hobby. Although this will remain my core focus for January 2022, my strategy is to start to expand what I write about a bit more this month and throughout the year.

I have many other interests and hobbies that I would like to share with my regular readers and hopefully by writing about new topics I will build a broader following of readers and followers.

I will just be dipping my toe in the water this month for this strategy as I need to plan out what this strategy actually looks like in reality, what sort of format will I follow and how regularly to write about different topics.

As a sneak peek, some of the topics I plan to write about include healthy living, DIY projects, home renovations and sharing my thoughts on current events that could impact on our daily lives.

4. Power Up

  • Liquid HIVE - For the month of January 2022, my strategy is to Power Up all the liquid HIVE that I earn each day from the communities that I have delegated to and support.
  • HIVE Power - Similarly for the month of January 2022, my strategy is to keep all the HIVE Power that I earn from authoring posts or curating posts powered up. I have no intention of powering down any of my HIVE Power during the month of January 2022. My current focus is to be in a growth phase and one of the most effective ways of doing that in my opinion is to keep my HIVE Power powered up.
  • HBD - For the month of January 2022, my strategy is to transfer all the HIVE Backed Dollars (HBD) that I earn from authoring posts or curating posts into HIVE Savings. I will talk more about this strategy in the next section that follows.

5. HBD - Fixed Interest

Now that HBD pays a respectable fixed interest rate of 12% when transferred into HIVE Savings, this has created a nice safety hedge. For the month of January 2022, with the HIVE price where it is above $1, it makes sense to me to hedge my bets with the HBD I earn from authoring and curating posts by transferring it into HIVE Savings to earn interest.

HIVE Savings only has a three day withdraw window, so if during the month I require some liquid HIVE or fiat currency, I still have that flexibility available to me. This also means that my growth strategy of powering up all of my HIVE Power can continue and not be impacted on if I need quick cash.

I will continue to monitor this hedging strategy through out the year and I will continue to tweak it depending on the performance of HIVE.

Conclusion

To conclude this post, you can see that my strategy for January 2022 is quite straight forward and easy to follow. I am a simple man, so I like to keep my investing and growth strategies simple too. When it comes to wealth creation and growth I am definitely more the tortoise that the hare.

I have tried to be the hare in investing in the past, it has been fun and exciting, but more often than not it has resulted in loss in the medium to longer term. This is another reason why I love the HIVE ecosystem so much, because it offers you so many different strategies to follow. I like to uniquely design a strategy that is right for me, for my lifestyle and for my level of risk tolerance.

My January 2022 strategy is mine alone and should not be considered to be financial or investing advice. I am purely just sharing my personal opinions on what I believe to be right for me at my current stage in life.

Good luck formulating your HIVE strategies and goals for 2022. If you do decide to put your strategies down in writing on HIVE, please share a link to your blog post in the comments below as I would love to have a read to learn what other strategies people are choosing to follow on HIVE. 😀

This seems like a really solid strategy. I'm very new to the hive network, and I understand most of what I see now, but I still don't understand witnessing and delegating. Would you mind shedding a little light on that for me?

The HIVE witnesses are basically those who keep the HIVE blockchain running smoothly. They run 'nodes' that monitor all of the transactions on HIVE, ensuring they are valid transactions and that there are no duplicate transactions. I do not know all the technical ins and outs of how 'nodes' work, but I know the top witnesses put a lot of time and money into the ongoing monitoring of the blockchain.

Delegating is a bit easier to explain. If you have HIVE Power (HP) in your wallet, it increases what you can do on the HIVE blockchain. The higher the amount of HP that you have, the more frequently you can post, comment and upvote content. It also increases the value of your upvote. So HP is very valuable on the HIVE blockchain.

So there is a built in function in your HIVE wallet where if you have excess HP to what your posting, commenting and upvoting needs are, you can choose to delegate (similar to a loan, but without the risk) some of your HP to a HIVE user account to boost up their HP.

As a reward for your delegation that user account may pay you a regular daily amount in HIVE (like an interest payment). Only certain accounts do this, so choose wisely who you delegate too. The HIVE payment will continue daily as long as your HP remains delegated.

If after a few weeks you decide that you want to post more, comment more or upvote more and you need more HIVE Power in order to do so, you are able to remove your delegation and get the delegated HP back in your account again.

It is a very useful feature on HIVE, especially if you do not post regularly, but want your HP to be working for you and earning more HIVE.

Hope this all makes sense.

Great strategy. Look for ways to try and build HP and then turn that into a passive income through voting. Best of luck to you

all five points you have outlined in this article are precious… I try to make all five exactly, without leaving one behind.

Thanks @stefano.massari, mlst of them are easy to follow. Posting frequently and posting quality require discipline and brain power, but they are rewarding to do and a good quality post can pay handsomely.

It's a good strategy but which is better posting or having 12%

I like doing both. Posting definitely has the potential to pay a lot higher, but requires you to write quality pieces, which take time and effort. The 12% is passive income, so if there are periods when I am too busy to write, at least I am still earning 12%.
