¡Hola a todos los amantes del cine! No había tenido la oportunidad de ver ésta película hasta hace poco, en uno de mis encuentros con mi hermana. No suelo ser muy taquillera ni mirar lo que está de moda, así que cuando se estrenó, sólo supe que había tenido buenas críticas, así que me animé a verla para yo misma apreciarla, ya que no me dejo llevar por los comentarios realizados hacía un filme, hasta no verlo y obtener mi propio criterio.

Hello to all movie lovers! I had not had the opportunity to see this film until recently, in one of my meetings with my sister. I'm not usually a blockbuster or look at what's in fashion, so when it was released, I only knew that it had had good reviews, so I decided to see it to appreciate it myself, since I don't get carried away by the comments made a film, until I see it and obtain my own criteria.

La película nos cuenta la historia de los orígenes de Cruella De Vil, la villana recordada de 101 Dalmatas, todo ambientado desde su punto de vista, muy al estilo de pov o narración en primera persona. Nos cuentan cómo desde muy pequeña, Estella (Nombre dado a la protagonista) es acogida por una mujer amorosa y paciente, quién le insiste en que debe cubrir su cabello singularmente bicolor y que hace lo posible por criarla... lo cual no es tarea fácil, dado que la pequeña niña, tiene un carácter difícil y es algo incontrolable, a esa parte suya que sale de vez en cuando, la llaman "Cruella", como si fuese otra personalidad que necesita estar encerrada en su interior en todo momento, para evitar que salga a hacer "maldades". Pero, en contra parte a su actitud rebelde, posee una habilidad innata para la creación, lo cual la lleva a enfrascarse en el diseño de modas a su muy corta edad. Su gran sueño, es convertirse en alguien importante en ese gremio y elaborar los mejores vestidos. Su cuidadora hace todo apoyarla, hasta que luego de un evento desafortunado, la niña queda huérfana y acaba vagando en las calles, sin un lugar al cual pertenecer y completamente sola.

The film tells us the story of the origins of Cruella De Vil, the remembered villain of 101 Dalmatians, all set from her point of view, very much in the style of pov or first person narration. They tell us how from a very young age, Estella (Name given to the protagonist) is welcomed by a loving and patient woman, who insists that she must cover her singularly two-tone hair and that she does everything possible to raise her... which is not an easy task, since the little girl has a difficult character and is somewhat uncontrollable, that part of her that comes out from time to time, they call her "Cruella", as if it were another personality that needs to be locked inside her at all times, to prevent him from going out to do "mischief". But, contrary to her rebellious attitude, she has an innate ability to create, which leads her to get involved in fashion design at a very young age. Her great dream is to become someone important in that guild and make the best dresses. Her caregiver does everything to support her, until after an unfortunate event, the girl is orphaned and ends up wandering on the streets, without a place to belong and completely alone.

Pero como dice el dicho "Dios los crea y ellos se juntan". La pequeña desafortunada tiene un encuentro con unos niños, Horacio y Gaspar, quienes están en su misma condición y que viven de hurtos. Al principio se sienten apenados por la situación de la niña, más luego ven en ella una posibilidad para poder obtener mejores ganancias en sus fechorías. Es así como Estella crece en un ambiente criminal, aprendiendo las artes del robo y la estafa, junto a sus compañeros en el crimen. Parece que nada ni nadie los puede detener, son el equipo perfecto y ante cualquier posibilidad de robo, ellos no dudan en armar un plan bastante estratégico para aprovecharla, con Estella elaborando impecablemente los disfraces que utilizan para sus estafas.

It seems that nothing and no one can stop them, they are the perfect team and in the face of any possibility of theft, they do not hesitate to put together a fairly strategic plan to take advantage of it, with Estella impeccably preparing the costumes they use to scam her.

Pero aquella vida, no es lo que desea Estella, quien aún conserva su sueño de niña de poder diseñar y elaborar elegantes vestidos. Es por eso que el día de su cumpleaños, a través de sus trucos, sus compañeros de habitación le regalan la posibilidad de entrar a trabajar en una tienda de ropa de la ciudad, bastante famosa por ofrecer los diseños de la Baronesa, nada más y nada menos que la mejor de las diseñadoras. Esto emociona bastante a Estella, quien trata por todos los medios de convencer al dueño de la tienda que le deje ofrecer sus ideas, pero este hace caso omiso, dado que entra a trabajar al sitio como empleada de mantenimiento. Eso no la detiene y sigue insistiendo, hasta que una noche se emborracha y saca a "Cruella" del armario, teniendo un estallido de creatividad que estrella contra la vitrina del local. A la mañana siguiente, todo el mundo está hablando de lo exhibido en la vitrina. Aquello es algo fuera de lo común, es atrevido y vanguardista. La Baronesa, que casualmente esa mañana hacía acto de presencia en la tienda, ve la vitrina y queda impactada con lo que en ella se refleja, ofreciéndole la oportunidad a Estella de trabajar para ella.

The next morning, everyone is talking about the display in the window. That is something out of the ordinary, it is daring and avant-garde. The Baroness, who coincidentally made an appearance at the store that morning, sees the window and is shocked by what is reflected in it, offering Estella the opportunity to work for her.

Es aquí cuando comienza una nueva etapa en la vida de Estella, muy apartada del crimen y rodeada de lo que siempre quiso. Después de tanto esforzarse, todo parece ir viento en popa. Aunque trabajar para la mujer conocida como la Baronesa, no es un trabajo fácil. Pronto conoce sus excentricidades y sobre todo, su excesivo egocentrismo, que la lleva a querer apoderarse de todo y obtener el crédito, incluso de los diseños que han sido elaborados por miembros de su equipo de trabajo. Estella, con su genialidad y talento, aparte de su habilidad para camuflarse, logra obtener en cierto grado la confianza de la mujer, hasta volverse su asistente personal. Estando cerca de ella no sólo puede analizarla mejor, sino que se percata de algo que la deja sin aliento... la Baronesa tiene en su poder el collar que le pertenecía a su madre y que dio por perdido el día de su muerte... o más bien, de su asesinato. Es a partir de allí cuando la joven, saca a Cruella y empieza a elaborar un ingenioso plan para derrocar a la Baronesa en su propio juego: El diseño de moda.

Being close to her, not only can she analyze her better, but she notices something that leaves her breathless... the Baroness has in her possession the necklace that belonged to her mother and that she gave up for lost on the day of her death. .or rather, his murder. It is from there that the young woman takes out Cruella and begins to develop an ingenious plan to overthrow the Baroness in her own game: Fashion Design.

Es una película bastante interesante y atrayente. Sé coser, me considero una costurera amateur y me encantan los filmes y series que tienen que ver con ésta temática. Ver los diferentes diseños de trajes y outfits, es un verdadero deleite para mí. Pues es como si estuvieras viendo un desfile de moda con una trama de por medio. Creo que eso fue lo que más me gustó de la película, dado que no soy muy fanática de los dramas criminales, aunque debo admitir que la historia fue muy diferente de lo que esperaba, sobre todo por sus giros argumentales. Pues una vez que Estella deja salir a esa parte de su ser que siempre fue en su totalidad ella misma, se empiezan a descubrir secretos que ella nunca esperó conocer. La vida puede ser realmente cruel, pero lo importante es cómo afrontamos los retos que se nos presentan.

It's quite an interesting and engaging movie. I know how to sew, I consider myself an amateur seamstress and I love the films and series that have to do with this theme. Seeing the different designs of suits and outfits is a real delight for me. Well, it is as if you were watching a fashion show with a plot in between. I think that was what I liked the most about the movie, since I am not a big fan of crime dramas, although I must admit that the story was very different from what I expected, especially because of its plot twists. For once Estella lets out that part of her that was always wholly herself, secrets begin to be discovered that she never expected to know. Life can be really cruel, but the important thing is how we face the challenges that come our way.
