¡Hola a todos los amantes de las películas, sobre todo de las animaciones! Como muchos niños, crecí rodeada viendo películas animadas, en mi casa tenías un VHS y muchas películas, entre ellas, estaba una que a mí y a mis hermanos, nos intrigaba bastante, llegando a verla incontables veces y siempre generándonos el mismo sentimiento de misterio. Se trata de El león, la bruja y el armario, una película animada del año 1979 y que hace poco, logré ver de nuevo junto a mi hermana.

Hello to all lovers of movies, especially animations! Like many children, I grew up surrounded by watching animated movies, in my house I had a VHS and many movies, among them, there was one that intrigued me and my brothers, getting to see it countless times and always generating the same feeling of mystery. It is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, an animated movie from 1979 that I recently managed to see again with my sister.

Este filme, es una adaptación de uno de los libros de Las crónicas de Narnia, comienza cuando la pequeña Lucy sale de un armario totalmente emocionada, rápidamente va en busca de sus hermanos, exclamando que después de haber estado ausente, por fin ha regresado. Sus hermanos Peter, Edmund y Sussan, no entienden a que se refieren, pues estaban jugando todos al escondite y ella apenas había estado escondida unos minutos. Pero la niña insiste, continuando con su relato acerca de donde estuvo por horas: En otro mundo al cual ingresó a través del ropero y donde, al parecer, el tiempo transcurre de diferente forma. Los demás chicos siguen extrañados, no pueden creer la historia relatada por la pequeña, pero aún la siguen hasta el armario. Tras revisarlo y verificar que no hay nada extraordinario en su interior, Lucy entristece al sentir que ha quedado como mentirosa ante sus hermanos.

This film is an adaptation of one of the Chronicles of Narnia books, it begins when little Lucy comes out of a closet totally excited, she quickly goes in search of her brothers, exclaiming that after having He's been away, he's finally back. Her brothers Peter, Edmund and Sussan, do not understand what they mean, because they were all playing hide and seek and she had only been hidden for a few minutes. But the girl insists, continuing her story about where she was for hours: In another world that she entered through the wardrobe and where, apparently, time passes in a different way. The other boys are still surprised, they can't believe the story told by the little girl, but they still follow her to the closet. After reviewing it and verifying that there is nothing extraordinary inside her, Lucy is sad to feel that she has been left as a liar before her brothers.

Luego de ese momento amargo, la niña se encierra en su recámara. Ahí rememora todo lo acontecido en su viaje dentro del armario. Una vez ingresó en él, durante el juego de las escondidas, se percató de que era más largo de lo que parecía en su exterior. Continuó caminando, hasta llegar al fondo del mismo o más bien, a lo que parecía ser la entrada a un mundo completamente nuevo y cubierto por una extensa capa de nieve. Lucy se desconcierta, se supone que los armarios no llevan a ningún lugar, decidiendo caminar un poco llevada por el sentido de la exploración y la curiosidad infantil. Sus pasos la llevan hasta un faro y bajo de él, termina teniendo un encuentro con el señor Tumnus, un fauno que queda en shock al encontrarse con la niña y referirse a ella como "hija de Eva", al darse cuenta de que se trata de una humana. Le explica que el lugar en donde están se llama "Narnia".

After that bitter moment, the girl locks herself in her bedroom. There she recalls everything that happened on her journey inside the closet. Once she entered it, during the game of hide and seek, she noticed that it was longer than it seemed on the outside of her. She continued walking, until she reached the bottom of it or rather, to what seemed to be the entrance to a completely new world and covered by an extensive layer of snow. Lucy is puzzled, closets are not supposed to lead anywhere, deciding to walk a little out of a sense of exploration and childish curiosity. Her steps take her to a lighthouse and under it, she ends up having an encounter with Mr. Tumnus, a faun who is shocked to meet the girl and refer to her as "Eve's daughter", realizing that it is a human. He explains that the place they are in is called "Narnia".

El fauno invita a la niña a beber el té en su casa y Lucy, decide acompañarlo. Una vez allí, el señor a Tumnus la sirve cordialmente e incluso, saca su flauta para comenzar a tocar una encantadora melodía. La niña queda encantada, escuchando atentamente hasta que, queda atrapada bajo un hechizo. Pero casi de inmediato, el fauno se arrepiente y despierta a Lucy ara luego, confesarle entre llantos que estuvo a punto de entregarla a la Bruja Blanca, una criatura malvada que tiene sumida todo el lugar en un invierno eterno, ordenando a todos que capturasen a cualquier humano que se encontrasen. La niña no puede creer lo que el señor Tumnus le cuenta, pero le perdona. A pesar de las consecuencias que le esperan, el fauno se apresura en acompañarla de nuevo a fuera de su casa y escoltarla hasta el camino por donde llegó, no sin antes advertirle que no debe regresar nunca más o le esperará un destino terrible.

The faun invites the girl to drink tea at his house and Lucy decides to accompany him. Once there, the lord a Tumnus serves her cordially and even takes out her flute to start playing a charming melody. The girl is enchanted, listening carefully until she, she is trapped under a spell. But almost immediately, the faun repents and wakes Lucy up later, confessing between tears that he was about to hand her over to the White Witch, an evil creature that has plunged the whole place into an eternal winter, ordering all to capture any humans they encountered. The girl cannot believe what Mr. Tumnus tells her, but she forgives him. Despite the consequences that await her, the faun rushes to escort her back out of her house and escort her to the path she came from, but not before she warns him that she must never return or A terrible fate awaits him.

Muy a pesar de su advertencia, Lucy aprovecha la siguiente oportunidad en que vuelven a jugar al escondite para de nuevo, meterse en el armario a visitar Narnia, sólo que ésta vez, su hermano Edmmun irá tras ella. Al principio, el niño sólo esperaba darle un susto a su hermana al verla meterse en el armario, pero una vez dentro, se da cuenta de que el camino se hace cada vez más extenso, hasta que llega a una zona nevada. Edmmun comienza a caminar, tratando de seguirle la pista a Lucy, hasta que alguien que va en un trineo, se detiene... Se presenta como La Bruja Blanca.

Despite his warning, Lucy takes advantage of the next opportunity they play hide and seek again to go into the closet to visit Narnia, only this time, her brother Edmmun will go after her. At first, the boy only expected to give her sister a scare by seeing her get into the closet, but once inside her, she realizes that the path becomes longer and longer, until he reaches a snowy area. Edmmun starts walking, trying to keep track of Lucy, until someone on a sled stops...she introduces herself as The White Witch.

La Bruja, se siente extrañada ante la apariencia de aquella criatura y trata abusivamente de obtener su identidad. Edmmun, le dice que es un humano, a lo que la bruja entra en una especie de pánico al darse cuenta de que se encuentra frente a un "hijo de Adán", más astutamente, a través de regalos, logra hacer que el niño le confiese todo, contándole que no sólo tiene tres hermanos más, sino que una de sus hermanas, ya ha estado anteriormente en Narnia y tuvo un encuentro con un fauno. Tras escucharlo, la reina le dice a Edmmun que si lleva a sus hermanos frente a ella, lo volverá el príncipe y luego, será el rey de toda Narnia. Luego de eso, lo deja ir, prometiéndole que le espera todo un reino si cumple con lo pedido.

The Witch feels strange at the appearance of that creature and abusively tries to obtain her identity. Edmmun, tells her that he is a human, to which the witch enters a kind of panic when she realizes that she is facing a "son of Adam", more cunningly, through gifts, she manages to make the child give her confess everything, telling him that not only does he have three more brothers, but that one of his sisters has already been to Narnia before and had an encounter with a faun. After listening to him, the queen tells Edmmun that if he brings her brothers in front of her, he will become the prince and then he will be the king of all Narnia. After that, she lets him go, promising that she has a whole kingdom waiting for her if she complies.

Una vez que Eddmmun se encuentra con su hermana deciden regresar a su mundo. De nuevo allí, Lucy espera que su hermano le asegure a los demás que lo contado sobre Narnia, es cierto, dado que tuvo la oportunidad de verlo con sus propios ojos. Sin embargo el niño le miente a sus hermanos y de nuevo la niña, se entristece por culpa de su hermano. Tras una charla con el profesor, el dueño de la casa, sobre el tema narrado por los niños, el hombre le comenta sobre la posibilidad de diferentes puertas de otros mundos, que pueden conseguirse en el mundo humano. Y tras sopesar la palabra de ambos hermanos, Peter y Sussan deciden creer en la más pequeña. De esa forma, los cuatro hermanos deciden ingresar al armario y por consecuencia, llegar hasta Narnia.

Once Eddmmun meets his sister they decide to return to their world. Back there, Lucy waits for her brother to assure the others that she told him about Narnia, it is true, given that she had the opportunity to see it with her own eyes. However, the boy lies to her brothers and again the girl, she is sad because of her brother. After a talk with the teacher, the owner of the house, on the subject narrated by the children, the man comments on the possibility of different doors from other worlds, which can be obtained in the human world. And after weighing the word of both brothers, Peter and Sussan decide to believe in the smallest. In this way, the four brothers decide to enter the closet and consequently, reach Narnia.

Es en este punto en dónde la historia de los cuatro hermanos, hijos de Adán e hijas de hija, en la tierra de Narnia, comienza. Tendrán varios encuentros, harán amistades y sus fortalezas se pondrán a prueba. A pesar de que los años han pasado y la animación, ya no me parece tan impactante como lo era antes, aún sigue teniendo ese toque un tanto tétrico, la banda sonora complemente perfectamente con ésta pieza de la animación que sin lugar a dudas, merece ser apreciada.

It is at this point that the story of the four brothers, sons of Adam and daughters of a daughter, in the land of Narnia, begins. They will have various encounters, they will make friends and their strengths will be put to the test. Despite the fact that the years have passed and the animation no longer seems as impressive to me as it was before, it still has that somewhat gloomy touch, the soundtrack perfectly complements this piece of animation that, without a doubt, deserves be appreciated.
