Gujarati Dabeli Recipe
Dabeli is a popular Sweet and Spicy snack originating from Gujarat and now famous across the globe. It is made using Pav with a filling of spicy, tangy mashed potato mixture. The stuffing is placed between the pav with mint and tamarind chutney. It is widely served as a breakfast item and also as an evening snack. If you visit Gujarat or Mumbai, you will find it very cheap at the road side thellas but they taste the best.

Ingredients

3. | Chopped Coriander Leaves | 1/4 Cup |
4. | Chilli Powder | 1/2 TBSP |
5. | Garam Masala | 1/2 TBSP |
6. | Salt | To taste |
7. | Chaat Masala | 1 TBSP |
8. | Butter | For Shallow Frying |
9. | Roasted Peanuts | 8-10 Units |
10. | Pomegranate Seeds | 2 TBSP |
11. | Aloo Bhujiya | 2 TBSP |
Method
**Step 1: Boil the Potatoes and mash to a fine mixture. Add all spices, chopped onion and coriander leaves and mix well.
Step 2: Take a pav, cut it into half without breaking it.
Step 3: To one side of the pav, apply tamarind chutney and to the other side, apply mint chutney.
Step 4: Add the potato mixture. Place some chopped onion, pomegranate seeds and peanuts on the mixture. Also add some aloo bhujiya to give it a crispy taste.
Step 5: Cover the pav and toast it on the pan with some butter.
Step 6: Serve hot with tomato ketchup or garlic chutney.
