Espero que se encuentren muy bien y que su día haya sido maravilloso, yo estoy excelente gracias a Dios, feliz de poder contarles mi experiencia visitando este lugar histórico de mi país, tenia semanas queriendo visitarlo pero no se me había presentado la oportunidad, este castillo queda justo en la bahaí de Pampatar donde suelo venir a hacer mercado para mi hogar y también esta ubicada la mejor tienda de tatuajes de la Isla, a decir verdad es una zona bellísima con muchos locales, emprendedores, parques, casas históricas, aun me falta mucho por recorrer pero poco a poco les iré contando sobre cada aventura, a continuación les mostrare a detalle como es visitar este lugar y les contare algo de su historia, espero lo disfruten tanto como yo!

I hope you are very well and that your day has been wonderful, I am excellent thank God, happy to tell you my experience visiting this historic place of my country, I had weeks wanting to visit but I had not been presented the opportunity, this castle is right in the bay of Pampatar where I usually come to do market for my home and is also located the best tattoo store on the island, to tell the truth is a beautiful area with many locals, entrepreneurs, parks, historic houses, I still have a long way to go but little by little I will tell you about each adventure, then I will show you in detail how is to visit this place and I will tell you some of its history, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Es imposible no ver este castillo cuando esta ubicado en una de las mejores zonas de la Isla ademas de que solo la entrada te hace querer ir y conocerlo, esta es una construcción militar de la época del virreinato de Nueva Esparta en la bahía de Pampatar, este lugar fue construido en 20 años pero 40 años después desafortunadamente fue destruido por complete debido a los piratas, luego fue reconstruido otros 20 años mas y así sucesivamente, era atacado y luego lo volvían a construir así que este lugar tiene mas historias de las que llegaremos a pensar.

It is impossible not to see this castle when it is located in one of the best areas of the island and the entrance alone makes you want to go and see it, this is a military construction from the time of the viceroyalty of Nueva Esparta in the bay of Pampatar, this place was built in 20 years but 40 years later unfortunately was destroyed completely by pirates, then it was rebuilt another 20 years and so on, it was attacked and then rebuilt again so this place has more stories than we will ever think.

Entre las cosas que me parecieron algo curioso fueron las habitaciones que son pequeñas, escondidas y raras, supongo que era mejor así ya que estaban en constante alerta por si volvían los piratas, había un ancla abandonada así que le tome una foto, por ultimo esta el pozo, su propósito original era atrapar a los ladrones o piratas que deseaban entrar caminando, los ladrones podían nadar hasta llegar el pozo, al salir por allí los militares tenían todo a su favor para derrotarlos, mas ubico una pequeña equivocación, el arquitecto no hizo bien su trabajo y el pozo resulto ser muy alto, el agua nunca logro llenarlo, así que esta trampa para piratas jamás funciono en realidad.

Among the things that I found somewhat curious were the rooms that are small, hidden and weird, I guess it was better that way because they were on constant alert in case the pirates returned, there was an abandoned anchor so I took a picture, finally there is the well, its original purpose was to catch the thieves or pirates who wanted to walk in, The thieves could swim until they reached the well, when they went out there the military had everything in their favor to defeat them, but there was a small mistake, the architect did not do his job well and the well turned out to be very high, the water never managed to fill it, so this trap for pirates never really worked.

Al subir por la rampa el cielo se volvía cada vez mas grande y hermoso, al estar arriba quedas totalmente deslumbrado, es una de las vistas mas hermosas que pueden haber de la Isla, esta fue la construcción militar mas importante de la Isla en ese entonces ya que se encargaba de defender en contra de los piratas y corsarios, y pues lo hicieron muy bien, realmente es una zona estratégica ya que se tiene vista de gran parte de la Isla, lo mas sorprende para mi es que aun siendo atacada tantas veces la volvían a reconstruir, todo para defender la Isla!.

When going up the ramp the sky became bigger and more beautiful, when you are at the top you are totally dazzled, it is one of the most beautiful views of the island, this was the most important military construction of the island at that time since it was in charge of defending against pirates and corsairs, and they did it very well, it really is a strategic area since it has a view of much of the island, the most surprising thing for me is that even being attacked so many times they rebuilt it again, all to defend the island!

Me acerque un poco mas a la orilla y pude apreciar los cañones que estaban abajo para defender la Isla y el Castillo militar, las olas chocaban contra ellos era una hermosa vista, en cuanto a su arquitectura tiene 4 baluartes en las esquinas y 4 cortinas centrales, lo cual nos dice que es un castillo regular ya que todo contiene una similar dimensión, la única forma de acceder a el es por el puente elevadizo que les mostré al comienzo, un dato curioso que se me paso mencionar anterior mente es que se sabe que dos de los ataques al castillo fueron hechos por piratas holandeses y franceses en dos épocas distintas.

I approached a little closer to the shore and I could see the cannons that were down to defend the island and the military castle, the waves crashed against them was a beautiful sight, as for its architecture has 4 bastions at the corners and 4 central curtains, which tells us that it is a regular castle as everything contains a similar dimension, The only way to access the castle is by the elevated bridge that I showed you at the beginning, a curious fact that I forgot to mention before is that it is known that two of the attacks to the castle were made by Dutch and French pirates in two different times.

Visitar este lugar me lleno de vida, al entrar en los fuertes ubicados en las esquinas me sentí como una verdadera aventurera, era como volver a esa época donde los militares estaban protegiendo la Isla, la brisa fresca y el sonido del mar son una maravilla, no les puedo describir lo feliz que soy visitando lugares como estos, llenos de historia y mucha naturaleza, fue como despejar por completo mi mente y aprender mas sobre la vida misma, me alegra haber aprendido mucho sobre la historia de esta Isla, de mi país, me siento muy orgullosa de los militares que hicieron vida aquí en su momento, aun tengo dos castillos mas por visitar y conocer a profundidad, me encanto ser parte de esta ventura y poder compartirla con ustedes, gracias por leer y vivir esta gran visita junto a mi!.

Visiting this place filled me with life, when I entered the forts located in the corners I felt like a real adventurer, it was like going back to that time where the military were protecting the island, the cool breeze and the sound of the sea are wonderful, I can not describe how happy I am visiting places like these, full of history and lots of nature, It was like clearing my mind completely and learning more about life itself, I am glad to have learned a lot about the history of this island, of my country, I feel very proud of the military that made life here at the time, I still have two more castles to visit and know in depth, I love to be part of this adventure and to share it with you, thank you for reading and living this great visit with me!.
