Black Cats
Hello Hive friends and cat lovers!
Two years ago I adopted a black kitten and looking for information on some adoption site, I found out that black cats are the cats that least adopt because of superstitions and beliefs that they bring bad luck. This caught my attention why even in the XXI century this continues to happen.

Hace dos años adopté un gatito negro y buscando información de algún sitio de adopciones, me enteré que los gatos negros son los gatos que menos adoptan un tema de supersticiones y creencias de que traían mala suerte. Esto me llamó bastante la atención el por qué aún en pleno siglo XXI esto sigue ocurriendo.
In this post I would like to highlight the qualities and curiosities about these kittens to improve these thoughts about these beautiful animals.
En este post quisiera resaltar las cualidades y curiosidades acerca de estos gatitos para se mejore estos pensamientos sobre estos hermosos animales.
Fortunately, in some cultures it has always been associated with good luck, the Scots believe that if you see a cat in or near your house, it is a good fortune. The Japanese believe that when a single woman has a black cat, it is believed that it increases her chances of finding a partner and in Germany if you meet a black cat, it is a sign that something good is about to happen to you.
Afortunadamente, en algunas culturas siempre se le ha asociado con la buena suerte, los escoceses creen que si ves a un gato dentro o cerca de tu casa, es de buena fortuna. Los japoneses creen que cuando una mujer soltera tiene un gato negro, se cree que aumenta sus posibilidades de encontrar pareja y en Alemania si te encuentras con un gato negro, es señal de que algo bueno está por ocurrirte.
In ancient Egypt, they were practically considered semi-gods, only the pharaoh could tame them, they could not be owned by an ordinary citizen. It was also associated with the goddess Bastet, therefore it brought happiness, harmony and joy to the home.
En el antiguo Egipto, se les consideraba prácticamente semi dioses, sólo el faraón podía domesticarlo, no podían ser propiedad de un ciudadano común y corriente. Además se le asociaba a la diosa Bastet, por lo tanto aportaba al hogar felicidad, armonía y gozo.
These cats have a large amount of melanin, which makes them have such dark fur, but with age and exposure to the sun, the tone of their fur can change to a little more brown and they can have gray hair.
Estos gatos poseen una gran cantidad de melanina, eso les hace tener el pelaje tan oscuro pero con la edad y la exposición al sol les puede ir variando el tono de su pelaje a un poco más marrón y pueden tener canas.

There are 50 breeds of cats, among the best known are the Maine Coon, the British Shorthair and the Bombay (the Bombay is a single breed that is exclusively cats with black fur)
Estos gatos poseen una gran cantidad de melanina, eso les hace tener el pelaje tan oscuro pero con la edad y la exposición al sol les puede ir variando el tono de su pelaje a un poco más marrón y pueden tener canas. Hay 50 razas de gatos, entre los más conocidos están el Maine Coon, el British Shorthair y el Bombay (el Bombay es una única raza que es exclusivamente de gatos con pelaje negro)
Sailors believed that having a cat of this color on board would keep them from misfortune. In Victorian England it was believed that if a newlywed couple crossed black cats, it would bring luck to their marriage.
Los marineros creían que tener un gato de este color a bordo, les alejaría las desgracias. En la Inglaterra victoriana se creía que si una pareja de recién casados cruzaban gatos negros, esto traería suerte a su matrimonio.
