Hello friends of Hive! Today I want to tell you about a nice experience I had when I lived in Lima - Peru. In January 2018 I had the opportunity to work on the set of a movie.

Hola amigos de Hive! Hoy les quiero contar una linda experiencia que tuve cuando vivía en Lima - Perú. En Enero de 2018 tuve la oportunidad de trabajar en el rodaje de una película.

It was the first time he participated in one and it was as a camera assistant. The truth is that I was quite lucky because I wasn't looking for it, I simply asked a friend if he knew of someone who worked in the audiovisual world and one person connected with another until they called me to ask if I wanted to participate.

At the time of accepting the proposal I was quite nervous and excited since it was the first time I had worked in cinema. Previously, in Venezuela, he had worked in television stations and the way of working is totally different. The first day of shooting arrived and I realized that in Peru, they used different names for the objects they used for recording, from simple things like "the box" I knew it as "stool", the "masking tape" It was known as “teipe” and the same thing happened with technical terms. But fortunately I learned them quickly and it was not a problem in the following days of shooting.

The film was called El Manual del Pisado (Pisado is an expression that comes together in Peru to refer to the person who is subdued or dominated by their partner) it was a comedy film where a marriage goes through a crisis, the husband feels submitted to the orders of his partner. He is judged by his friends until one day he decides to put a stop to these abuses and they decide to go to therapy to improve the situation.

The shoot lasted 30 days where I learned many things, not only about the camera but about makeup, production, audio, etc. Within my work career, I think it has been what I have enjoyed doing the most and I hope to have the opportunity to participate in another.

What a very cool experience! I have been fortunate enough to handle location security for several films and television shows.

I've worked on a number of film in the past and it was pretty remarkable to me how long it takes to get a single scene. In one experience we were shooting a single scene for some action TV series and we did something crazy like 40 takes to get exactly what the director was looking for. It was a hot day and some of the extras, including me, were starting to get a bit upset about that.

Wow 40 is a lot and with the heat it takes forever haha but it's a cool job 😎

There's something really special about working in a tv or film crew isn't there!

Lucky you! So glad that you had that opportunity as they don't come by too often!

I've worked on a few films and tv shows, but in Australia, it's such a small industry with millions trying to get into it, so the majority work for free- unless they are really well known and established....

I have my own little production house with shows that I'm trying to get on air too!
