Trip in Recoleta, Buenos Aires
Greetings friends of Hive, today I want to show you my tour of the Recoleta neighborhood located in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
Saludos amigos de Hive hoy les quiero mostrar mi recorrido por el barrio de Recoleta ubicado en la Ciudad autónoma de Buenos Aires.
This neighborhood is quite touristy, it is considered the most elegant neighborhood in the city, it has European-style buildings and it has an incomparable cultural legacy, so it has many places to visit.
Este barrio es bastante turístico, es considerado el barrio más elegante de la ciudad, posee edificios con estilo europeo y tiene un legado cultural inigualable, por lo que tiene muchos sitios para visitar.
Today we went down Junín street and passed by the Recoleta Cemetery, this is a famous cemetery that contains the tombs of well-known characters in Argentine history, such as General Pablo Riccheri, who held various positions over the years his life as a soldier, in 1890 he was appointed Lieutenant Colonel and Director of the Armaments Commission in Europe and in 1990 President Roca appointed him Minister of War and was in charge of modernizing the army. This was burying in 1936 the cemetery with the highest military honors.
El día de hoy nos fuimos por la calle Junín y pasamos por el Cementerio de la Recoleta, este es un famoso cementerio que contiene tumbas de personajes conocidos de la historia argentina como lo es el General Pablo Riccheri que tuvo varios cargos a los largos de su vida como militar, en el año 1890 fue nombrado teniente coronel y Director de la Comisión de Armamentos en Europa y en 1990 el presiente Roca lo nombró Ministro de Guerra y se encargó de modernizar al ejército. Este fue enterrando en 1936 el cementerio con los más altos honores militares.
The remains of the politician and diplomat José C Paz also rest, who was also the founder of the newspaper La Prensa, which is still active and was considered one of the ten most important newspapers in the world.
También descansan los restos del político y diplomático José C Paz quien también fue el fundador del diario La Prensa aún se mantiene activa y se consideró uno de los diez periódicos más importantes del mundo.
Next to this cemetery we have the Basilica Nuestra Señora del Pilar, which was built in 1732 and has been a National Historic Monument since 1942. In front of this Basilica is the Plazoleta Juan XXIII and there is a rubber tree that is more than 200 years old, about there are several versions of its history, one of them is that it was planted by the Recoletos parents in 1823 in the current Recoleta cemetery and then it was transplanted to its current location, its trunk measures 7 meters in diameter and its branches reach 30 meters in length long, definitely this tour is a jump in time.
Al lado de este cementerio tenemos a la Basílica Nuestra Señora del Pilar que fue construida en 1732 y es Monumento Histórico Nacional desde 1942. Al frente de esta Basílica está la Plazoleta Juan XXIII y hay un árbol gomero que tiene más de 200 años, acerca de su historia existen varias versiones una de ellas es que fue plantado por los padres Recoletos en 1823 en el actual cementerio de la Recoleta y luego fue trasplantado a su actual ubicación, su tronco mide 7 metros de diámetro y sus ramas alcanzan los 30 metros de largo, definitivamente este recorrido es un salto en el tiempo.
Finally on this tour we ended up visiting the Cultural Center of Recoleta, this building was originally a convent for the Recollect friars, it was built in 1732 and in 1858 it became a home for beggars and then for the elderly. In 1979 a second remodeling of the building was carried out and it became the new City of Buenos Aires cultural center where several museums were installed. It was inaugurated in 1980 and in 1990 it changed its name to Centro Cultural Recoleta.
Finalmente en este recorrido terminamos visitando el Centro Cultural de Recoleta, este edificio originalmente fue un convento para los frailes recoletos, fue construido en 1732 y en 1858 pasó a ser un asilo de mendigos y luego de ancianos. En 1979 se hizo una segunda remodelación del edificio y pasó a ser el nuevo centro cultural Ciudad de Buenos aires donde instalaron varios museos. Se inauguró en 1980 y en 1990 pasó a cambiar su nombre a Centro Cultural Recoleta.
Currently its space is used to the maximum, it has halls where they present works with various artistic expressions, auditoriums, outdoor activities are held on the terrace, on this occasion there were young people reciting poetry and dancing.
Actualmente su espacio es aprovechado al máximo, cuenta con salones donde presentan obras con varias expresiones artísticas, auditorios, en la terraza se hacen actividades al aire libre, en esta ocasión estaban jóvenes recitando poesía y bailando.

Excellent tour! It is not possible to visit Recoleta without entering the famous cemetery and also the cultural center, this is one of the most visited neighborhoods in the city for all the attraction it offers.

Did you know that this structure is by a Uruguayan sculptor and was made with scrap metal? Only with recycled car parts. The sculptor generates a realistic style with these pieces, it is simply amazing 😍.
