A NO-GO COUNTRY

For someone who professes his love for traveling, and exploring every part of the world possible, there should be no exclusions , i think. I want to go every place I can. Remember that the good, the bad and even the ugly are all part of the experience.

But then, there are factors to put into consideration, and of course, my safety is highly paramount. In the case that there is security and/or world peace in every sense, then why not? I'd comb the length and breadth of every region but at present, some of those visits can only seamlessly happen in my mind. There's insecurity and crime all over the place. Even as small as communities and states in my country have been marked off as no-go-areas or hot zones and just merely mentioning those areas puts people in their feelings.

Away from insecurity, other reasons could be behind my not wanting to go such places. And as per the question posed, one of such places with too many mins boggling issues is Korea. North Korea precisely. I used to want to visit Korea generally because I cared to know what life in that region was like and also to see why a number of people(especially females) are so giddy about the race. I wanted to explore the beauties of the environment and also learn a few things about them and why plastic surgery seems to be a big thing.

And then, by chance, I stumbled upon a post about north Korea that had my mouth hanging open and that prompted me to learn more. And I found that all of everything about them is perplexing. It was difficult to imagine anyone living under such terrible conditions. Thinking of how enslaved(the word that most suits the condition) they are threatened my breathing. I do not care if they, as a people, are progressing and/or used to that way of life, because come on, it's cruel. Until the revelation about them, it had never occured to me that, in this time and age people have life so painstaking. Come on now, where's the human rights??

It was a shocker reading that the lives of the people there are spelled out for them.
First, If one person committed a crime, the whole family goes down for it. I thought of those scenarios where a child goes with the mom to the mall and maybe he/she sees sweets and picks up of one. And imagine that the mother didn't see it immediately. So, just like that, everybody packs their bag to to go chill in jail? Ridiculous!

Then second, there's no way (except for foreigners), to make international calls. Like these people just exist in a different world. Just made me realize that I haven't seen people of that race around here. I first tried to imagine Nigeria without the internet. And there were too parallel lines.

Then third, there are no extra TV channel but for the three stations the government puts in place. Just how!? It's said that they can't even turn off the radio. Like how do you humans live like that. They cannot even travel in or out of the country without government approval and as you would think, the government rarely issues visas. Cause if they do, the individual may never return. Why would anyone ever want to.

Then too, it's said that high school students cannot choose courses of their choice to study in the university. That's to say there's nothing like going with your passion, or living your dream or anything. It's plain dictatorship. It's sad.

How would I visit a country that I know that individuals born there, from years ago, still have to shudder around the rules. How do I not fear that maybe if I sneeze facing the left, it may be a problem. There are so many issues bothering Nigeria, but this, this misfortune, could never be us.

My bubble even bursted when I learned that there are days the government could set aside as no-laugh days. For whatever barbaric reason! And I bawled. Could never be my people. We who laugh even in the face of chaos. How do you expect a happy child like myself to go there? What's the visit for if I cannot be happy? What ele is there to life?

I would, rather than have fun at the visit to North Korea, sour my mood and end up having my mental health in disarray. Let's not even talk about walking on eggshells while there. It's just a no-no for me.

I just know that rather than we(Nigerians) go through this, we'll just kill our government and kill ourselves. Let Nigeria go die.
LMAO.

Wow, I knew a little about the strict rules but I never knew it was up to this extent.
