"DING DONG!!!"

Emily placed her left hand on her mouth as she tried to gasp for air at the same time. It was like she wanted to breathe but didn't want to. She shivered more as the door creaked.

Just in that moment, she started having flashbacks of her whole life. Right from the childhood memories, to the day she found her love, Stephen, and the day he proposed to her and then finally the day she got a true purpose in life, which was the day she birthed Elena. Elena was the only thing keeping her going. She never imagined that the last day she would see Stephen and Fiona her only sister was on her birthday.

All three of them -Emily, Fiona and Stephen- and their friend, Joseph, had taken a trip to celebrate her birthday leaving Elena with Stephen's parents. Emily was an adventurer so she was in support of going to explore the supposed forbidden house. She regretted being the one to pull the vote in favour to go into the house. She remembered the strange kid who warned her too.

'DING DONG' the bell rang again. There was some sort of demon who adhered to the door bell. Anytime the door bell rang it came out to take one. The first person to go was her friend, Joseph, he was the victim of the first ring.
Emily could feel the cold come again. She watched in horror as the mist spread across the room. The house was bigger than it looked from outside. Everywhere was locked by some kind of force. The only way out or in was the entrance door which had the bell and it was just same for the demon.

"Emily, Emily, it is alright we can leave now," the imitated voice of Stephen said. Emily hid herself under the stairs. She shut her eyes tight, avoiding the new horror it must have taken form of. The first time she saw it, it had the form of a cow with hands like that of the warewolf in movies and standing up straight on its two thin human legs.

The second time, it came as a faceless clown, she screamed in horror and that was how her dear Stephen was lost.
She then gathered the courage to take a peep at the door. She saw it this time and it was in the form of a mutated human spider. She held her both hands tight over her mouth and watched as it crept across the room. She had made it all the way down to the exit but what was left was how to get to the door. The house was totally dark the only light that was in the house was the moonlight that managed to seep through the little space of the slightly opened door.

"Emily, please help me," it said this time in Fiona's voice as it climbed the stairs.
Emily waited for its steps to fade so she knew it was far gone before making the run for the door. When she felt sure, she stepped out quietly from under her hiding place.
"Finally," the voice came from behind. Emily turned back in fear just to see it hanging on the ceiling with a menacing smile.
Immediately, she ran for the door but she wasn't fast enough for the reach. With just one leap it had hold of Emilys leg.

"Ahhhhh!" Emily shouted as she fell face down to the ground.
"No, no, no," Emily wailed as she kicked against the hand that held her leg. But it was to no avail, her already weak match from her trembling and tired leg was no match for the strong grip.
It wickedly and slowly dragged her into a shadow at the corner of the room. Emily had given up and was having the last flash of her dear child.

"Elena," she said as tears rolled down her eyes.

'DING DONG', the pulling stopped, the grip on her leg was no longer there. The door was now closed. Emily took a second to pickup her already lost hope of seeing Elena again. With her last strength, she ran to the door knocking it open with the weight of her entire body, smashing hard against the ground and her head against a stone in front of the house. "Elena," she said as her vision blurred and her eyes closed slowly.

Slowly, she opened her eyes to the light and faces of the voices she heard. They were strangers. They must have found her the next day, and so they carried her to the hospital.
