Little pause.. 🥰☀️
Wednesday is #Wednesdaywalk hosted by great @tattoodjay 🌼 who collaborating with the wonderful @elizacheng who is hosting #Makemesmile 🌼
On today's walk, I am taking you again to Bosnia and Herzegovina. A walk near the monument to fallen soldiers in World War II.
Tjentište
It is an elevation, which is surrounded by mountains...
The monument is located in the Heroja Valley, in the Sutjeska National Park...a monumental work by the sculptor Miodrag Živković and his collaborators, the architect Ranko Radović...it was erected in 1971, the construction lasted 2 years...
The monument consists of two concrete wings....
Between which there is a passage, which they call penetration...
The battle was fought in these forests, over 3,000 fighters were killed... whose remains are next to the monument...
They fought for freedom, for a better tomorrow...
After the war, monuments were built to fallen fighters and heroes... now slowly forgotten... I was small but I grew up in Yugoslavia... I remember many ceremonies that were held, to strengthen brotherhood and unity... To be remembered heroes and fallen fighters in this war...
This monument brought back my memory...
A lot of time has passed since those days... The time of the eighties was nice, carefree for me... We didn't have much, but I was happy... We went on excursions to all the former republics in Yugoslavia... I remember the Plitvice Lakes, I was enchanted by that sight and I hope to visit them one more time......then Sarajevo..... And various monuments...I don't really remember them all....
Maybe I also visited this monument...
The nature around the monument is beautiful, and I can't imagine that such big and difficult battles were fought here....
After some quiet thoughts, I returned to the present and slowly regained my composure by looking at the mountains...
There were visitors... who took photos around the monument...
I did one nice lap, and barely climbed the stairs.... It was a few hours drive to this place....
And I liked the fresh air...
The stone wings are huge when you approach, and seem to dominate the whole valley.... To get to them you have to climb a lot of stairs.... Good exercise after sitting on the bus 😅
Come on, I'll take a selfie too... a memory in 2023... so when were the eighties 🤣
The tour is over and we're moving on...
Thank you very much for visiting my blog ❤️

Wow, what a beautiful view there. I love natural scenery like that. I also like the shape of the building made of wood. I hope I can visit that place someday.
It's beautiful here ... I caught my photos just a piece of beauty ..🥰
The wooden building is beautiful, and it should be a museum ...
