Mushrooms in autumn and winter day 🥰

Here are some mushrooms that I met on an autumn day...
Small but very unusual, they reminded me of sea urchins....dried ones that they sell as souvenirs.... 🤭
Pumpkin mushroom...I really meet it all year round.... (Lycoperdon perlatum Pers.) it is an edible mushroom from the mushroom family (Agaricaceae).
It is spread almost all over the world, it has various names, but it is interesting that they also call it wolf fart...
The Latin name comes from the words lykos (wolf) and perdon (fart)...some other source says that the second word is perdo (to destroy), because it supposedly grows from wolf excrement...
In foreign languages, the names are common puffball, warted puffball....
Here we are now in winter and there is snow that covered the mushrooms... They can still be seen between the snowflakes...
I saw them by chance, because I approached to take a photo of a tree with snow 🤭
A real winter catch on a walk in the forest and the first snow of the year....
I'm always fascinated where everyone can see a mushroom....where everything grows and nothing bothers them....there are no obstacles to their growth, if pine needles have fallen there, the mushroom will grow through them or around them.... Or a twig if it falls..... They always find a way for their growth...🥰

Not much snow in Portugal. We have frost in UK, but while in Poland I managed to capture some snowy days too 😍

It's nice to see snow, especially when there isn't any where you live.
It rarely snows here and if it does, it’s not much of it and it doesn’t stay for long 🤷🏻♀️

The combination of the green moss, the white snow and the mushrooms is so nice to see! 😉

Oh, you also posted puffballs today! Wolf fart is a funny name for it that I didn’t come across yet 😂 Poor man’s sweetbread is another funny one 😉

Haha 😂 I guess it’s how people describe what they see when then look at those mushrooms or poor man’s bread is to do with how it tastes, but yeah I enjoy researching them just to have a little laugh 😆
