Visit The Natural Tourism : Kali Talang

When I was in Yogyakarta I visited a tourist spot that is famous for its beautiful scenery, the name of this place is Kali Talang.

From Kali Talang, you can see the view of the peak and crater of Mount Merapi. For those who do not want to climb, visiting here is an option to enjoy the view of Merapi. Mount Merapi is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.

The distance of this area from the peak of Mount Merapi is only 4 km so that the crater can be seen. Here we can also camp, although only on Saturdays and Sundays. The manager of the Kali Talang forbids visitors to camp outside of operational hours because outside that day there is no one to supervise this area. The prohibition exists to avoid unwanted things when Merapi's activity suddenly increases.

To enter this area we only need to pay a motorbike parking fee, which is 2,000 rupiah. This is a very cheap tourist spot.

The main attraction of this area is the view of the peak of Mount Merapi, but unfortunately when I visited this place it was cloudy so I couldn't enjoy the view too clearly. Even I couldn't stay here long because the rain suddenly came, even though it was hot at that time even though it was cloudy.

There is also a viewing post here, from here you can clearly see the view of Mount Merapi. Besides that the bottom of the Kali Talang can be seen clearly. I didn't dare to climb this viewing post, it looked fragile even though it said it could be climbed up to 10 people.

Around the Kali Talang in the form of steep cliffs, the bottom of which is a river for the lava flow of Mount Merapi. When exploring the Kali Talang, caution is needed because of the many cliffs.

Here are also made boundaries for visitors to visit, this is useful as a safe limit for this still active volcano. The government set the maximum limit close to Mount Merapi is 3 Km.

Kali Talang is a beautiful place, this place is good for relaxing the mind by seeing the beautiful scenery. This is a tourist place that you must visit if you go to Yogyakarta or Jawa Tengah. Although it is far from the city center but the road to get here is not difficult. To visit the Kali Talang does not require a large fee because there is no entry fee, only for vehicle parking fees and maybe food fees.
