One Day at ‘Mini Hobbiton’ Puncak : The Pinewood Lodge & Organic Farm

Hi everyone!

I hope you are in good health when you read this ^^

Sorry for being on hiatus for a month. Getting used to writing regularly as before was not as easy as I imagined. Because the work is getting more and more piled up, causing me to take up a lot of time. In addition to time, my mind and my energy were also drained almost completely. I'm not good at timing either. Every day I became a slave to the company, leaving early in the morning and returning at night, while on my days off, I used it to rest.

After thinking for a long time, I finally realized, you only live once and time can't be turned back. It would be a pity to spend the rest of my life in meaningless activities -being a slave to the company and lazy on the weekends- . From now on I will try my best to be a more useful person for many people.

That's all my vent, let's get back to the point of the post~

Starting from a friend's invitation for a full day's vacation in the suburbs, to refresh the mind. Because coincidentally at that time I was free and had a little budget for entertainment, I finally agreed to the invitation. The date of June 12, 2021 has been set as our departure day. The week before, we were busy choosing which inn to visit. The destination area has been previously determined, namely Puncak - Bogor, West Java. A highland area with cool air which is located in the southeast of Bogor City, there is an expanse of tea gardens that are also soothing as far as the eye can see.

We were planning to rent one of the Coutages around Puncak. However, because the price offered was higher than our budget, we chose another inn. After searching for a long time, we finally found a good inn at a very affordable price, namely The Pinewood Lodge & Organic Farm.

The Pinewood Lodge & Organic Farm

Finally, the appointed day arrived. Because my house is farthest from my friends but also closest to our destination, I was picked up last. At 08.00 WIB, I arrived at the pick-up location that had been previously agreed upon, precisely at the rail gate at Bojong Gede station. My friend's black Honda Vario approached shortly while I was waiting. Without wasting any time I got up and got ready to go. The six of us rode together on 3 different motorbikes.

The journey from Bojong Gede station to The Pinewood Lodge & Organic Farm is about an hour and a half. We passed Jalan Raya Cilebut - Bojong Gede, went straight through Tanah Baru, then turned towards Jalan Raya Bogor, and went straight again along Jalan Raya Padjajaran. Left and right of the road overgrown with shady trees, cool air enveloped our journey. A happy smile always breaks from my lips, the image of a full day's vacation that I hope can relieve fatigue for a moment continues to be in my mind. I'm really excited, the journey during it feels short because I enjoy the whole trip. The location of The Pinewood Lodge & Organic Farm is quite close to Taman Safari Indonesia, only 3 KM or 15 minutes by car. We had time to rest for a while in the middle of the trip, buy some necessities to stay at one of the minimarkets.

When me and my friends rest at a minimarket

Around 10.30 we arrived at the inn. The first impression I got when I first arrived at the gate of our inn was amazement. As long as the eye can see plants and flowers with various types growing well. My attention was immediately stolen when I saw small buildings not far from where I was standing. Wow, hobbit house! As a lover of The Lord of the rings and The Hobbit, I couldn't possibly miss the sight in front of me. I have to take a selfie there later!

Entering the lobby of the inn, the architecture of the building reminds me of a European colossal movie. The arrangement of red bricks that serve as walls, various hanging paintings, and not to mention the vines that are allowed to hang from the top of the outside of the building add to the exotic impression of this inn. After an easy and quick check-in process, we were taken to the 2nd floor using wooden stairs by the innkeeper.
Arriving on the 2nd floor, my eyes fell on the classical piano in the corner of the room. There is a large sofa to the right. This place must have functioned as a relaxing place for guests. We continued walking through the hall. The location of our room was at the end, only a few meters from the sofa and the piano.

We rented 2 rooms with Deluxe Queen type, In the room there is a queen size bed, there is a 32 inch TV, a dressing table complete with chairs, and hangers.
The bathroom itself is equipped with a hot shower, which is very helpful because the temperature in this area is quite cold. Only by paying Rp. 530,000 (including breakfast for 2 people), the room facilities offered in my opinion are very worth it.

I immediately threw my body onto the bed, it was very comfortable, the mattress was very soft with soft and fragrant sheets. When I opened the curtain at the head of the bed, I saw a row of large trees that decorated it, at the bottom there was a small pavilion that seemed to be unused, to the right there was a small stream.

At 13.00 my roommate and I went out for lunch. The inn also features a restaurant. The distance between the restaurant and our room was quite close, it was on the right side of the main building. The price is quite expensive, I ordered chicken geprek sambal matah with rice priced at 45k. (Usually the standard price of the food is around 20-30k, it could even be cheaper). While my friend ordered hot coffee for 10k. The taste of the food itself is quite good.

After lunch, I plan to explore this inn further. On the right side of the inn to the back is a children's corner, which is a place for various outbound facilities for children, besides that there is also an organic farm and still around the same area there is also a small farm, in which there are various kinds of animals such as rabbits, goats, and even geese.

Not far from the geese's cage there is a tree house that you can climb. But unfortunately, some of the facilities look a bit poorly maintained, such as this example of the tree house that I climbed. The wooden supports and ladders look a bit flimsy, and some of the animal cages also look dirty as if they are rarely cleaned. The organic farm that was carried as the name of this inn looks not empowered to the maximum, it just seems modest.
Even so, it doesn't seem to dampen the children's interest to keep playing there, it is proven that many children are seen milling about in this children's corner facility.

The front near the car park, there is an outdoor hall, the hall is just a building with red brick tiled floors and a roof with supporting pillars. On the right side of the hall there are several lodging rooms and a prayer room.

If you are interested in visiting The Pinewood Lodge & Organic Farm after reading this article, you can search for it on Google Maps by typing the name of the inn, while the full address is: Gandamanah Road no. 251, South Monument, Cisarua District, Bogor, West Java – Indonesia.

XOXO,

Syivara
