31 de diciembre: ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! [ESP/ENG]
Agradecer siempre atraerá cosas positivas a nuestras vidas, comenzando por una buena actitud. Agradecer es ver el caso medio lleno, en lugar de medio vacío.
Recuerdo que cuando faltaba poco para finalizar el 2022, decreté que el 2023 sería muy bueno, porque 23 es mi número favorito, por mi fecha de nacimiento, nací un 23 de julio. Y así fue, ha sido un gran año al cual le agradezco tanto.
De la misma manera, ahora presiento que el 2024 será un año decisivo en diversos aspectos: Es electoral, puedo optar a mi jubilación prematura, se prevé un crecimiento económico en mi país, es mi cumpleaños 50... En fin, creo que será un gran año.
31 de diciembre, a pocas horas para recibir el 2024, nos reunimos en casa de mi suegra, donde compartimos con la familia de mi esposo, que también es mi familia, desde hace 7 años.
Llegamos a las 9 de la noche y nos esperaba una rica cena: Hallacas y pan de jamón.

December 31, a few hours before 2024, we met at my mother-in-law's house, where we shared with my husband's family, who has also been my family for 7 years.
We arrived at 9 pm and a delicious dinner awaited us: Hallacas and ham bread.
Comí muy despacio, disfrutando cada bocado, ese es un plato que no se encuentra el resto del año, sólo en la época decembrina, sabía que seguramente tendría que esperar meses, para volver a tenerlo frente a mi. Mi esposo pensaba que estaba llena y no me cabía más, sin embargo, sólo quería que no se acabara.
Antes de que nos dispersáramos, le pedí a mi cuñada que por favor nos tomara una foto familiar, es una tradición de cada 31 de diciembre, no puede pasar sin ese mágico recuerdo, todos en una toma.
I ate very slowly, enjoying every bite, that is a dish that is not found the rest of the year, only at Christmas time, I knew I would surely have to wait months, to have it in front of me again. My husband thought I was full and couldn't fit any more, however, I just didn't want it to run out.
Before we dispersed, I asked my sister-in-law to please take a family picture of us, it's a tradition every December 31st, it can't happen without that magical memory, all in one shot.
Casualmente los 4 estábamos vestidos de negro, no fue algo planificado, sólo sucedió. Mi esposo y mi hijo quisieron vestirse igual y mi hija y yo elegimos vestidos negros, porque fueron los que más nos gustaron cuando salimos a comprarlos, la verdad es que no habían muchas opciones.
Quise probar una forma de tomar fotografías panorámicas en horizontal y lo hice con el arbolito porque es bastante alto. El siguiente fue el resultado. Tengo que mejorar la técnica, pero al menos comencé a practicar.
Coincidentally all 4 of us were dressed in black, it wasn't something planned, it just happened. My husband and my son wanted to dress the same and my daughter and I chose black dresses, because they were the ones we liked the most when we went out to buy them, the truth is that there were not many options.
I wanted to try a way to take horizontal panoramic pictures and I did it with the little tree because it is quite tall. The following was the result. I have to improve the technique, but at least I started practicing.
Siguiendo con el modo fotografía, le pedí a mi cuñado que me tomara una fotografía en el arbolito, él hizo su mejor esfuerzo, pero es que esta modelo noes para nada buena.
Es otra de las cosas que quiero mejorar en el 2024: aprender a tomar fotografías y mejorar mis poses, quiero que mi blog sea cada vez mejor y para eso, las fotografías deben mejorar también.
Continuing with the photography mode, I asked my brother-in-law to take a picture of me in the tree, he did his best, but this model is not good at all.
This is another thing I want to improve in 2024: learn how to take pictures and improve my poses, I want my blog to be better and better and for that, the pictures must improve too.
Practiqué estar presente cada momento, estuvimos largo rato conversando de todo un poco en familia, todos estábamos de acuerdo en que este año, para Venezuela, había sido mejor que los anteriores y tenemos la expectativas de que el nuevo año, será aún mejor. Además de que lo más importante siempre es tener buena salud y agradecemos por eso.
Sentí que el tiempo se pasó volando, tanto del año, como de esta velada que estaba disfrutando. Estuvo con nosotros la tía Yolanda, que normalmente pasa estas fechas en Ciudad Bolívar y conocí a otra tía de mis esposo llamada Alicia, que tampoco es común verla por aquí. Vi a mi suegra bastante contenta. Cada detalle me hacía sentir agradecida.
I practiced being present every moment, we spent a long time talking about everything as a family, we all agreed that this year, for Venezuela, had been better than the previous ones and we have the expectation that the new year will be even better. Besides, the most important thing is always to have good health and we are thankful for that.
I felt that the time flew by, both of the year and of this evening I was enjoying. Aunt Yolanda, who usually spends these dates in Ciudad Bolivar, was with us and I met another aunt of my husband's named Alicia, who is not usually seen here either. I saw my mother-in-law quite happy. Every detail made me feel grateful.
Pronto llegó el momento de reunirnos a recibir el Año Nuevo con un brindis y el acostumbrado gran abrazo cargado de buenos deseos.
El brindis fue con vino de parchita, que me gustó porque es de sabor suave y, para los que no toman, bebidas alcohólicas había té de flor de Jamaica, una bebida que también me encanta y a mi hijo le gustó más, porque pidió dos copas.
Soon it was time to get together to welcome the New Year with a toast and the usual big hug full of good wishes.
The toast was with parchita wine, which I liked because it has a mild flavor and, for those who do not drink alcoholic beverages, there was hibiscus flower tea, a drink that I also love and my son liked even more, because he ordered two glasses.
