Letras Inspiradoras: ¿Y si sale bien? [ESP/ENG]

It’s hard to believe it’s already Thursday—it feels like the week went by pretty fast.
It surprises me because I went back to work this Monday after a relaxing vacation, and I thought the week would feel like it would never end.
Most of the time, reality is less frightening than we imagine.
Welcome to "Inspiring Words", this welcoming space where we can share our experiences, perspectives, or visions in the form of ideas, as a way to spark a dialogue that enriches us in some way.
I hope these words capture your attention and that you find your daily dose of inspiration.

Today I was talking with my husband about some projects I have in mind. I started out very excited, telling him about the progress I’d made and the opportunities I’d found, and after a while I mentioned the obstacles I might encounter along the way.
He immediately cut me off and told me to put the negativity aside.
I fell silent, thinking about how right he was.
I was sabotaging myself by focusing on the downsides of my projects before I’d even started them.
And it wasn’t a SWOT analysis with objective threats; rather, I was giving voice to my own fears.
Fear isn’t a good ally when it comes to building something—it will always try to keep you in the same place, your safe spot.

Our mind doesn’t like risks or change; its job is to keep us safe in the way it knows how.
If a person doesn’t leave their home for a long time, their mind will learn that they’re safe there, and it will become increasingly difficult for them to go out.
If someone, like me, follows a pattern of behavior based on safe, steady steps, when they try to run, their brain will see it as a danger, because they might fall.
So, first, we must act despite our fear, and second, stop believing our mind when it tries to sabotage us—knowing that it doesn’t mean to harm us, but rather to protect us.
Who isn’t intimidated by the unknown? We must be understanding of how we feel, but without letting fear take control.
It really helps me to replace the thought “What if it goes wrong?” with “What if it goes right?”
In fact, when we try something, there’s a greater chance it will go well, because at the very least we’ll have learned one way not to do it—in the worst-case scenario—whereas not trying at all is already a failure.

And you—have you found yourself lately thinking about all the obstacles that could stand between you and your goals?
It’s kind of like thinking, “I’m going to sell cake,” and then hearing a little voice say, “What if nobody buys it?”
How do you handle that situation? What helps you shake off the negativity?
Feel free to write whatever this post has inspired you to share.
