Walking among Flowers | Wednesday Walk

Who doesn't love flowers? You, me, and almost everyone adores them. Since childhood, we have delighted in holding these delicate blooms in our hands. There was a time when I was deeply fascinated by roses and longed to grow many rose bushes at home, but back then, I lacked the money to purchase the plants. Now that I have the means, there is simply no space left to plant them; the very layout of our homes has changed :everywhere I look, I see concrete walls and concrete floors, while the garden beds have vanished.

A few days ago, my uncle suggested taking us out for an outing and treating us to a good meal. We initially thought he was joking and that nothing of the sort would actually happen, but he really did take us to a spot right here in our city—a family park. Children were busy playing on the swings while their parents sat under the canopies, happily watching them and enjoying some snacks; everyone was engrossed in the moment. I joined the children from our family, and they were delighted to be there. The place was filled with plants; I took plenty of photos and strolled around, moving from one spot to another.

When flowers are in a garden, their fragrance drifts beyond its boundaries; remarkably, the scent itself acts as a tell-tale, revealing exactly where the flower is located and prompting would-be pickers to set out and pluck it.

It had rained, and every now and then, a light drizzle would fall—refreshing one's face and creating a delightful atmosphere for the leaves and flowers. Yet, strangely enough, today's flowers lack that certain quality; they do not exude fragrance the way they used to and seem entirely artificial. It is much like people these days, who often do not appear to be genuine human beings having turned into machines that know only how to earn money, with all sense of feeling lost. In the same way, the fragrance of flowers has, to some extent, vanished.

After spending some time at the park, we decided to go get something to eat. Our uncle took us to a motorway rest area where we had burgers, and the children enjoyed various other snacks. Afterward, we lingered a bit longer, but by then evening, we were setting in, and it was time for us to head back.

After a long time, I got the chance to travel somewhere far from home, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Money is a bit tight for me these days; otherwise, I used to be out and about quite often, visiting one destination or another.
