Bee & Co - Our Experiences in this Authentic Restaurant 🍽️☕

Hello everyone 👧.

My Sister drove to Gaya Street in Kota Kinabalu with me after attending a seminar conducted by my friend to find a restaurant for lunch. It's Saturday, and some office workers are still working in the town, with most of them working for about half day. My Sister, who drove her car, ended up searching for parking at the restaurant she wanted to dine at for almost half an hour.

Bee & Co is an authentic restaurant with positive reviews on social media, such as Facebook. We were able to find a parking spot. We had to walk about 500m from the parking lots where my Sister parked the car to the restaurant. I was very hungry that time, and I suggested that my Sister dine at a nearby restaurant. But my sister seems very eager to go to the authentic restaurant she wants to go to. I just follow my Sister behind as she walks to that restaurant with my grumbling stomach.

The authentic restaurant was situated around backpacker lodges for tourists. Before being seated in the restaurant, we ordered our meals at the counter.

In the menu, the restaurant uses bee-related terms. For example, Bee Chicky Rice, Bee Coffee Latte and so on. Western food and Korean food are available at this restaurant as well. Furthermore, the food is quite expensive compared to most of the authentic restaurants in Kota Kinabalu.

We both ordered the same drink in this restaurant, which is Bee Coffee Latte. The honey scent of the coffee latte was very aromatic. Additionally, the honey sweetness makes the coffee taste very unique.

The restaurant's signature meal, Bee Chicky Rice, was my sister's choice of food. The food looks appetizing, but the taste is just so so. My Mum homecooked meal tastes much better than this.

My Sister has almost finished eating her meal, but my food has not yet arrived. We almost wanted to check with the waitress at the counter whether my food ordered was missing out. But, my Chicky Soy Garlic Rice was delivered before we could do so.

Despite my late food delivery, it was my Sister who was most disappointed since I had to wait almost 30 minutes for my food with my hunger. In addition, Chicky Soy Garlic Rice is just Hainanese Chicken Rice and the taste just fine.

The price of this Chicky Soy Garlic Rice was equivalent to 3 Hainanese Chicken Rice in a normal restaurant in Kota Kinabalu.

Overall, we felt that this authentic restaurant food was not for us despite the positive reviews. Maybe if we have next visit in this restaurant, we'll only try on the Bee Coffee Latte ☕.
