[ENG/ESP] A day on the road through the hills, filled with work and smiles
As I mentioned in my previous post, this Friday was my last day of work for the week, and even though I was already mentally looking forward to the weekend, that didn’t mean it was any less productive than the others. On the contrary, I experienced it with a mix of enthusiasm, relief, and that sense of satisfaction you feel when you know you’re wrapping up a cycle the right way. I hope you, too, are nearing that long-awaited moment when your body and mind prepare to let go of the routine and surrender to rest. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you a beautiful day and a restorative weekend.
My day began with a particularly high spirit. The weather was lovely, with a clear sky that seemed to mirror my desire to end the week on the best possible note. I knew it was my last day of work, and that filled me with a different kind of energy, as if every step I took brought me a little closer to that much-anticipated break. My husband and I set out to complete our only scheduled task: heading to the Unik Hotel to check that the water levels were appropriate and to chlorinate the main tank.
During the drive, the scenery looked more beautiful than on other days. I don’t know if it was because of the excitement I was feeling, but everything seemed brighter, more vibrant, and more welcoming. Sometimes our mood changes the way we see the world, and I think that’s exactly what happened to me. Every tree, every building, every stretch of road seemed to have a special glow.
Como les conté en mi publicación anterior, este viernes fue mi último día de trabajo de la semana, y aunque ya estaba mentalmente a las puertas del descanso, eso no significó que fuera un día menos productivo que los demás. Al contrario, lo viví con una mezcla de entusiasmo, alivio y esa satisfacción que se siente cuando uno sabe que está cerrando un ciclo de manera correcta. Espero que ustedes también estén ya rozando ese momento tan esperado en el que el cuerpo y la mente se preparan para soltar la rutina y entregarse al descanso. De corazón, les deseo un día hermoso y un fin de semana reparador.
Mi jornada comenzó con un ánimo particularmente elevado. El clima estaba precioso, con un cielo despejado que parecía acompañar mi deseo de terminar la semana de la mejor manera. Sabía que era mi último día laboral y eso me llenaba de una energía distinta, como si cada paso que daba me acercara un poco más a ese respiro que tanto esperaba. Salimos mi esposo y yo a cumplir la única tarea programada; dirigirnos al hotel Unik para verificar que el agua tuviera los niveles apropiados y realizar la cloración del tanque principal.
Durante el trayecto, el paisaje se veía más hermoso que otros días. No sé si sería por el entusiasmo que llevaba encima, pero todo parecía más radiante, más vivo, más amable. A veces el estado de ánimo nos cambia los colores del mundo, y creo que eso fue exactamente lo que me pasó. Cada árbol, cada edificio, cada tramo de carretera parecía tener un brillo especial.
When we arrived at the hotel, they were already waiting for us to begin our routine. Everything went smoothly, which I deeply appreciated. When things go well from the start, you feel a tremendous sense of calm, like a silent confirmation that you’re doing things right. We completed the inspection and chlorination without a hitch, and that sense of a job well done stayed with us as we left the premises.
Al llegar al hotel ya nos estaban esperando para comenzar nuestra rutina. Todo fluyó con una armonía que agradecí profundamente. Cuando el trabajo sale bien desde el principio, uno siente una tranquilidad enorme, como una confirmación silenciosa de que se están haciendo las cosas correctamente. Culminamos la inspección y la cloración sin contratiempos, y esa sensación de deber cumplido nos acompañó mientras nos retirábamos del lugar.
After finishing up at the hotel, we headed into town to buy another bottle of bleach, because the one we had was almost gone. I don’t like to store large quantities of this product in our storage room, since its smell is quite strong if inhaled, and I’m very careful about that. In fact, whenever we have to move or handle larger quantities, I always wear a mask to protect my respiratory system. Safety is something that should never be neglected.
Después de terminar en el hotel, nos dirigimos a la ciudad para comprar otro frasco de hipoclorito, porque el que teníamos ya estaba por acabarse. No me gusta almacenar grandes cantidades de este producto en nuestro depósito, ya que su olor es bastante agresivo si se inhala, y soy muy cuidadosa con eso. De hecho, cuando debemos trasladar o manipular cantidades mayores, siempre me coloco una mascarilla para proteger mis vías respiratorias. La seguridad es algo que nunca se debe descuidar.
The cityscape was beautiful, too. The contrast between the buildings, the hustle and bustle of the city, and the deep blue sky created a very pleasant scene.
El paisaje urbano también estaba hermoso. El contraste entre los edificios, el movimiento de la ciudad y el azul intenso del cielo creaba una escena muy agradable.
We arrived at Tecno Química, our trusted supplier for many years, and finally bought the product. As we left, I felt a tremendous sense of relief, as if that purchase had officially crossed the last item off my to-do list for the day. Everything I had planned for this Friday had been accomplished, and that sense of satisfaction completely enveloped me.
Llegamos al local de Tecno Química, nuestros proveedores de confianza desde hace muchos años, y finalmente compramos el producto. Al salir, sentí una ligereza enorme, como si con esa compra se cerrara oficialmente la lista de pendientes del día. Todo lo planificado para este viernes estaba cumplido, y esa satisfacción me envolvió por completo.
At that moment, I was already officially in weekend mode. It was as if my body knew it before my mind did. So, with that wonderful feeling, I said goodbye to the day and the week.
