[ENG/ESP] A duty that never takes a break, not even on special days
A new week is beginning, and although work never stops, today we’ve decided to take things at a slightly more leisurely pace, taking a deep breath and giving thanks for every opportunity that comes our way. I sincerely wish you all a wonderful, productive start to the week, filled with positive energy. I’m sure mine will be, because we’re still immersed in an intense workday at the Sunsol Ecoland hotel, where every day brings new challenges and lessons.
Yesterday, while many were celebrating Father’s Day at home, we had to start very early. Before the sun had even fully risen, we were already at the hotel, ready to continue with the pending work on the plant. The main task of the day was to fill two of the filters and seal them with fiberglass—a process that requires strength, precision, and a lot of coordination.
Una nueva semana comienza, y aunque el trabajo no se detiene, hoy decidimos avanzar con un ritmo un poco más pausado, respirando hondo y agradeciendo por cada oportunidad que se presenta. Les deseo de corazón un inicio de semana maravilloso, productivo y lleno de buenas energías. Estoy segura de que el mío lo será, porque seguimos inmersos en una jornada intensa de labores en el hotel Sunsol Ecoland, donde cada día trae nuevos retos y aprendizajes.
Ayer, mientras muchos celebraban el Día del Padre en casa, nosotros tuvimos que comenzar desde muy temprano. Antes de que el sol terminara de levantarse ya estábamos en el hotel, listos para continuar con el trabajo pendiente en la planta. La tarea principal del día consistía en llenar dos de los filtros y sellarlos con fibra de vidrio, un proceso que requiere fuerza, precisión y mucha coordinación.
As always, teamwork was the key. We quickly got organized and began loading the media, starting with the coarsest grain size and working our way down to the activated carbon, following the correct order to ensure the filters functioned optimally. This loading phase is undoubtedly one of the most physically demanding parts of the process, second only to unloading the media, which we had done the day before and which left us exhausted but satisfied.
Como siempre, el trabajo en equipo fue la clave. Nos organizamos rápidamente y comenzamos a colocar las cargas desde la granulometría más gruesa hasta llegar al carbón activado, siguiendo el orden correcto para garantizar el funcionamiento óptimo de los filtros. Esta fase de llenado es, sin duda, una de las partes más pesadas del proceso, solo superada por la extracción de las cargas, que habíamos realizado el día anterior y que nos dejó agotados pero satisfechos.
Once we ensured that the fill levels were adequate, we moved on to sealing the filters. This is where fiberglass comes into play—a material that requires extreme care due to the toxicity of the resin and the precision needed for its application. We cannot skimp on the product or make mistakes, because these filters must withstand considerable water pressure, and any failure could compromise the entire system.
Cuando logramos que las cargas alcanzaran el nivel adecuado, pasamos a cerrar los filtros. Aquí es donde entra en juego la fibra de vidrio, un material que exige cuidado extremo debido a la toxicidad de la resina y a la precisión que requiere su aplicación. No se puede escatimar producto ni cometer errores, porque estos filtros deben soportar presiones de agua considerables y cualquier falla podría comprometer todo el sistema.
Despite our accumulated fatigue, the final result was excellent. Everything was properly sealed, and all that remained was to let the material dry thoroughly to ensure its durability. With the peace of mind that comes from a job well done, we left the hotel, satisfied that we had taken another step forward in this project that has demanded so much effort.
A pesar del cansancio acumulado, el resultado final fue excelente. Todo quedó sellado correctamente y solo quedaba dejar que el material secara muy bien para garantizar su resistencia. Con esa tranquilidad del deber cumplido, nos retiramos del hotel con la satisfacción de haber avanzado un paso más en este proyecto que ha demandado tanto esfuerzo.
Since we finished around 1:30 p.m., we went back home to enjoy the rest of the day as a family. I prepared a traditional dinner to spoil them a little after such a busy morning, and we shared a pleasant time, chatting and relaxing—just as a Sunday should be after so much work.
That’s how our day went—amid responsibilities, exhaustion, and moments of family togetherness. Now we’re starting this new week with the hope of making even more progress, because the work at the plant isn’t finished yet and there are still important tasks to complete. But we’re moving forward with enthusiasm, discipline, and the certainty that every effort is worth it.

Como terminamos alrededor de la 1:30 de la tarde, regresamos a casa para disfrutar lo que quedaba del día en familia. Preparé una cena tradicional para consentirlos un poco después de una mañana tan intensa, y compartimos un rato agradable, conversando y descansando, como debe ser un domingo después de tanto trabajo.
Así transcurrió nuestro día, entre responsabilidades, cansancio y también momentos de unión familiar. Ahora iniciamos esta nueva semana con la esperanza de avanzar aún más, porque el trabajo en la planta no ha concluido y todavía quedan tareas importantes por realizar. Pero vamos con ánimo, con disciplina y con la certeza de que cada esfuerzo vale la pena.
