[ENG/ESP] A Sunday for two, filled with harmony
I wish you all an excellent start to the week, filled with positive energy and productive moments that allow you to make progress on everything you have pending. I also hope your day is peaceful and fulfilling, just as I hope mine will be. Today I feel completely reenergized, with that inner strength that comes after a restorative weekend and prepares us to face a new workweek, with all the challenges it always brings—challenges that, in some way, drive us to keep growing.
The truth is that spending time with my family is something that fulfills me deeply. This weekend, I didn’t miss the chance to enjoy every moment, both on Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes routine swallows us up, but when those days come when we can pause for a bit and share, you feel your soul settle into peace. This past Sunday was special because my husband and I were home alone. Our son had gone out on Saturday and decided to stay at his friend’s house, so he wouldn’t be back until nighttime. That circumstance gave us some intimate time together—time as a couple that we always cherish.
This year we’re celebrating our “maroon anniversary,” as we’re about to reach our 29th year together. Although the exact date is still three months away, that’s not a problem for us. Whenever we have a free moment, we take the opportunity to spend time together and reflect on how wonderful it’s been to walk this path together for so many years. Life as a couple is built on little gestures, conversations, shared silences, and those impromptu walks that end up becoming precious memories.
That’s why, this Sunday, after taking care of a few things at home, we decided to go for a walk around La Asunción. We love strolling through its streets and admiring the murals that adorn the city, each one steeped in history, heritage, and culture. It’s as if the city speaks through its colors, telling us who we are and where we come from.

También deseo que su día transcurra con serenidad y satisfacción, tal como espero que sea el mío. Hoy me siento con las energías completamente renovadas, con esa fuerza interna que aparece después de un fin de semana reconfortante y que nos prepara para afrontar una nueva semana de trabajo, con todos los retos que siempre trae y que, de alguna manera, nos impulsan a seguir creciendo.
La verdad es que pasar tiempo con mi familia es algo que me llena profundamente. Este fin de semana no perdí la oportunidad de disfrutar cada momento, tanto el sábado como el domingo. A veces la rutina nos absorbe, pero cuando llegan esos días en los que podemos detenernos un poco y compartir, uno siente que el alma se acomoda. Este domingo que recién culminó fue especial porque mi esposo y yo nos quedamos solos en casa. Nuestro hijo había salido el sábado y decidió quedarse en casa de su amiga, así que no regresaría hasta la noche. Esa circunstancia nos regaló un espacio íntimo, un tiempo en pareja que siempre valoramos.
Este año cumplimos nuestras “bodas de granate”, ya que estamos por llegar a los 29 años juntos. Aunque aún faltan tres meses para la fecha exacta, eso no representa ningún problema para nosotros. Siempre que tenemos un momento libre, lo aprovechamos para compartir y recordar lo hermoso que ha sido caminar juntos durante tantos años. La vida en pareja se construye con detalles, con conversaciones, con silencios compartidos y con esos paseos improvisados que terminan siendo memorias preciosas.
Por eso, este domingo, después de hacer varias cosas en casa, decidimos salir a dar un recorrido por La Asunción. Nos encanta caminar por sus calles y observar los murales que adornan la ciudad, cada uno cargado de historia, raíces y cultura. Es como si la ciudad hablara a través de sus colores, contándonos quiénes somos y de dónde venimos.
After strolling around for a while and capturing a few moments with the camera, we felt like having a snack, so we headed to Más por Menos, located in the Ecocenter shopping mall on Fucho Tovar Avenue in Porlamar, García Municipality, Nueva Esparta State, here on our beloved Margarita Island.
Después de pasear un rato y capturar algunos instantes con la cámara, sentimos antojo de merendar y nos dirigimos al Más por Menos, ubicado en el centro comercial Ecocenter, en la avenida Fucho Tovar, en Porlamar, municipio García, estado Nueva Esparta, aquí en nuestra querida Isla de Margarita.
We really enjoy having a snack at that bakery because their products are always fresh. We ordered two cheese puffs and two guava juices. Needless to say, they were delicious; every bite was a perfect blend of flavor and texture. As we enjoyed our order, we chatted for a while—without rushing, without interruptions—simply letting ourselves be carried away by the tranquility of the moment.
Nos gusta mucho merendar en esa panadería porque sus productos siempre están frescos. Pedimos dos hojaldres de queso y dos jugos de guayaba. Está de más decir lo deliciosos que estaban; cada bocado era una mezcla perfecta de sabor y textura. Mientras disfrutábamos nuestro pedido, conversamos un rato, sin prisa, sin interrupciones, simplemente dejándonos llevar por la tranquilidad del momento.
When we were done, we headed back home with that gentle sense of joy that lingers after spending quality time together. There was no rush, no work—just that leisurely pace we so desperately need, which reminds us that life can also be lived at a calm pace.
Al terminar, tomamos el camino de regreso a casa con esa alegría suave que queda después de compartir tiempo de calidad. No había apuros, no había trabajo, solo ese ritmo pausado que tanto necesitamos y que nos recuerda que la vida también se vive en calma.
