[ENG/ESP] A Wednesday of scenic views and completed tasks

I’m back once again to share my midweek walk with you and to enjoy many of your walks as well, thanks to this wonderful initiative by @tattoodjay, who always inspires us to look at our surroundings with more love and to appreciate those little moments that make every day special.
This Wednesday started quite early for me—even before the sun had fully risen over the island. I had several tasks to tackle, all interconnected like pieces of the same puzzle that I had to put together calmly and precisely. The first task of the day was to measure a filter at the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, figure out where to buy a chandelier, and then go pick up the components that would be attached to the filter on the scheduled replacement day. A technical plan, but a necessary one to ensure everything works properly when the time comes to make the change.
We set out early, our spirits as bright as the weather the island has been treating us to these past few days. A warm, steady sun allowed me to capture beautiful views of the natural and urban landscapes—those contrasts I enjoy so much: the blue of the sky, the bustle of the city, the mountains in the distance, and the breeze that always accompanies our journeys.

Vengo una vez más para compartir con ustedes mi recorrido de mitad de semana y disfrutar también del de muchos de ustedes, gracias a esta hermosa iniciativa de @tattoodjay que siempre nos motiva a observar con más cariño nuestro entorno y a valorar esos pequeños momentos que hacen especial cada jornada.
Este miércoles comenzó bastante temprano para mí, incluso antes de que el sol terminara de elevarse sobre la Isla. Tenía varias tareas pendientes, todas relacionadas entre sí, como piezas de un mismo rompecabezas que debía armar con calma y precisión. La primera misión del día era medir un filtro en el centro comercial Parque Costa Azul, verificar dónde comprar una araña y luego ir a cargar las cargas que se le colocarían al filtro el día previsto para su reemplazo. Un plan técnico, pero necesario para que todo funcione correctamente cuando llegue el momento de hacer el cambio.
Salimos temprano, con el ánimo tan radiante como el clima que ha estado regalándonos la Isla en estos días. Un sol cálido y constante me permitió capturar hermosas vistas del paisaje natural y urbano, esos contrastes que tanto disfruto; el azul del cielo, el movimiento de la ciudad, las montañas a lo lejos y la brisa que siempre acompaña nuestros recorridos.
When we arrived at the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, they were already waiting for us to go down to the area where the filter is located. We checked the valves that supply it, carefully measured every detail to calculate the exact amount of filter media that needed to be replaced, and also the filter cartridge we needed to purchase. It’s a job that requires precision, but once you’re used to these routines, it becomes almost automatic—like following the steps of a recipe you already know well.
Al llegar al centro comercial Parque Costa Azul ya nos estaban esperando para bajar al local donde se encuentra el filtro. Revisamos las llaves que lo alimentan, medimos con cuidado cada detalle para calcular la cantidad exacta de carga que se debe reemplazar y también la flauta para el filtrado que debíamos comprar. Es un trabajo que requiere precisión, pero cuando uno está acostumbrado a estas rutinas, se vuelve casi automático, como seguir los pasos de una receta que ya conocemos bien.
When we were done, we went out to explore the city to find a place to buy the flute and the necessary supplies. I have to admit that the heat was overwhelming—the kind that makes the air feel hot and heavy, and makes you grateful for every bit of shade you find along the way. Since it was almost lunchtime and we’d found what we were looking for, we decided to stop for a bite to eat before continuing on.
Al terminar, salimos a recorrer la ciudad para buscar dónde comprar la flauta y las cargas necesarias. Les confieso que el calor estaba abrumador, de esos que hacen que el aire se sienta caliente, pesado y uno agradece cada sombra que encuentra en el camino. Como ya se acercaba la hora del almuerzo y habíamos resuelto lo que salimos a buscar, decidimos hacer una parada antes de continuar.
We went into the Sigo market to grab a snack, hydrate, and enjoy the air-conditioning for a while, because it was really hot. At the bakery, we ordered a mini lunch and a nice cold apple juice—perfect for cooling off and recharging our energy. That little break felt really nice—a moment of respite in the middle of the day.
Entramos al mercado Sigo para merendar, hidratarnos y disfrutar por un rato del aire climatizado, porque el calor estaba realmente fuerte. En la panadería pedimos un mini lunch y un jugo de manzana bien frío, ideal para refrescar y recuperar energías. Ese pequeño descanso se sintió muy agradable, un momento de pausa en medio de la jornada.
After having a snack and feeling refreshed and hydrated again, we headed home with a sense of calm and the satisfaction of a job well done. There’s nothing like wrapping up a trip knowing that everything went smoothly and that every task was on track for the scheduled day.
Después de merendar y sentirnos nuevamente frescos e hidratados, tomamos el camino a casa con la tranquilidad y la satisfacción del deber cumplido. Nada como cerrar un recorrido sabiendo que todo salió bien y que cada tarea quedó encaminada para el día previsto.
