[ENG/ESP] The value of simple moments with family.

First, I want to say hello and wish you all a wonderful and productive week; I’m convinced mine will be, because when you start your days with positive energy, everything seems to flow more smoothly. This past weekend I was pretty busy with my family, spending time with them and enjoying those simple moments that are so precious when experienced with calm and affection. Today I want to tell you about how we spent part of the weekend, because it was a lovely experience—the kind that leaves your heart feeling happy.
Early in the morning, a friend of my husband’s—who raises pigs—called to let us know he’d set aside a portion for us and that we could come pick it up. He lives in San Sebastián de Tacarigua, a picturesque place full of warm and friendly people, where you’re always welcomed with a smile and a cheerful greeting. Before going to pick up our share of the pig, we had to fill up on gas, so we left home and headed straight to Paraguachí to fill the tank at that gas station.

With a full tank, we took the Portachuelo Road, a route I know very well because I drive it two or more times a week on my way to work.
The weather was beautiful, with that special glow the island has when the sun decides to shine without being too intense. The scenery was radiant, just like my mood. Although it’s a route I travel frequently, when I go with my family, it feels different—more alive, more joyful. It’s as if every tree, every mountain, and every curve in the road glows a little brighter just because I’m sharing them with them. The company transforms the scenery, and that day I saw it once again.

When you enter San Sebastián de Tacarigua, the first thing you notice is that its urban landscapes have a joy all their own. The houses are painted in vivid, intense colors that reflect the festive spirit of its people. It’s a place that buzzes with life, radiates energy, and makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger and warmer.

My husband’s friend lives near a beautiful hill, and right at the foot of that hill he has his farm: pigs and chickens fed only natural products. That’s why his meat tastes different—purer, cleaner—and I can eat it without worry. A few years ago, I had to give up eating chicken, eggs, pork, canned foods, and refrigerated meals because they all caused me severe allergies. It was a difficult process, but by reading, researching, and talking to people who had similar experiences, I started my own natural poultry farm. That’s how I met people like my husband’s friend, who work the same way. We even help each other out and exchange products when necessary. Thanks to that, my allergies have improved tremendously.

Leaving San Sebastián, we took the Portachuelo road—which always treats us to beautiful scenery—all the way home. We couldn’t wait to cook our meat. Even though we don’t eat it all at once, we prepare it, store it, and share it with my father, who is always included in our family projects, even though he doesn’t live with us. It’s important to me that he’s part of everything; for older adults, knowing that they’re being thought of helps them a lot.

This was one of the things we did over the weekend, and I wanted to share it with you. I'll see you later this week to tell you a little more about my work trips.
See you soon.
Bye.
Chao.
