Growing ají margariteño peppers at home.

Good evening to everyone in the #HiveGarden community, today I want to share with you the margariteño chili bell pepper crops that I mentioned in a previous post. A neighbor, friend of mine, gave me the seedlings of the bush so that I could grow them because he had made a seedbed where he got many bushes of chili and as he offered them to me, I decided to venture into this type of crop, I have tried this chili, it has a great flavor and gives beautiful shades once its fruit ripens, when my fruits ripen I will show them to you.
The chili plants were given to me as a gift when they were very small, but with the care they have had so far, they have reached a good size and already have a few margariteños chili peppers that are currently green.

This chili has the peculiarity of only occurring in Margarita and it has not been possible to plant it outside the island because it does not occur, perhaps some of the islanders do not notice it, but the Margarita chili is a very demanding plant so putting it in a soil that is not that of the island means that it does not occur or that they come out very small compared to those planted in their land and that is what characterizes these peppers, their size and bright colors, that is why they have the name of Margarita chili.

These peppers were planted in a row and their position is very favorable since they receive the morning light until 11:00 a.m. where the Marabú tree gives them shade and protects them from the sun that at that time does not do good to anything or anyone and can even burn them. At 2:00 p.m. the sun returns from the other side of the Marabú tree and without the intensity of the typical midday sun until the sun goes away at 6:00 p.m.

The margariteño chili is a bush that requires a lot of water so the rainy months like August and September are beneficial months for the plant, but the month that is most favorable for planting is September due to the rains and the sun does not hit so hard allowing the peppers to be harvested in their best splendor. This is my first time growing it and this information was given to me by a friend.

It is used in various foods such as hallacas at the end of the year or chicken stew, this chili gives a special touch to these foods and a unique flavor.

These margariteños peppers are still green and I must wait for them to mature, but with patience and watering them every day, I will have a good companion for my meals which I hope in the future I will be able to show you.

I hope you liked to see this chili bell pepper bush and its journey to reach the size and flowering that it has now and I hope in the future to show you the moment of harvesting when the peppers are ripe and ready to take them out of the plant.
I will see you in another of my posts.
Bye
