Artsy And Modern Schouwburg Plaza In Rotterdam 👟 Wednesday Walk

It's been a while that I've watched the Wednesday Walk community and especially the posts of some of its members - that I happen to follow - and also wanted to participate in. In Suriname - where travel by car or bus is more of a necessity than an option - I didn't walk as much as I wanted to, but in the Netherlands - because of its accessibility and practicability - I've walked more in a shorter amount of time.

Because most places in the Netherlands are new to me, we try to make the most of our free time exploring the cities and on one of those occasions we happened to find ourselves in Rotterdam. We wanted to make a stop at the Markthal - famous for its ingenious and artistic structure - but little did we know that on the way there was enough to see.

Like the car-free Schouwburg (literally: theater) plaza we crossed, where most of the entertainment buildings - a cinema, De Doelen concert hall, a city stage, etcetera - in Rotterdam are housed. It's astonishing to know - for someone coming from a developing country - there's a parking under the plaza and to see the modern artistic structures (large moving light poles, long benches and alternately spouting fountains) all around.
