Enjoying The Surroundings When Undertaking Tedious Tasks๐ŸŽถ Calm Down #APART

avatar

The past few days were rather busy ones for us and it's been almost everyday that we've been hitting the road, up to the point that I said to @rarej that I was so tired of driving around. Can't we just stay home and click a few buttons and the rest will resolve itself? Especially in this modern day and age of technology.

Alas, Suriname isn't there yet and to get things done, one has to hit the road. Especially if you need to come into contact with government officials, whose jobs are mostly still done with pen and paper. And that's not all, often one has to drive around from one part of the city, to another. Not to mention that some offices are closing way before the official closing time. The constant rain wetting our clothes and hair also didn't help.

In spite of it all we tried to remain positive , because out of all the experiences there was only one occasion that was unpleasant. We didn't let that deter us and tried to see our journey from one office to the other as a scavenger hunt. I even tried to seize the good light - before it started raining - to capture some beautiful buildings in the capital city and to see my city through the eyes of a tourist if you will.

Skip Marleys song Calm Down was just what we needed to hear after that irritating encounter, because what's the use of getting worked up. Action only triggers reaction, while if one stays calm the situation will diffuse. Also, we enjoyed and appreciated the goodness and beauty around us.

That was how our past few days were in a nutshell and how we tried to roll with the punches and stay calm. How do you handle unpleasant situations? I would like to read about it in the comments below or better yet in your very own APART post ๐Ÿค“.

A lot of the times I realize just jumping to the negative conclusion is extremely counter productive and then you realize a lot is not what it seems, changes my perspective to pivot to the positive. You indeed did manage to get some great shots and the puffy clouds added to the photos.

I found the contrast of the sun and the cloudy sky indeed interesting and it started raining not long after I had taken the pictures, so I was just in time ๐Ÿ˜…. Trying to look at my surroundings like a real tourist hehehe

When someone is in that angry headspace or irritated or whatever, we often forget to stay positive. I'm so happy that when one of us is negative, the other stays calm and level headed. Tag teaming ๐Ÿคฃ.

Dear @tanjakolader, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got an important support from the community. However, it lost its funding few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.
https://peakd.com/me/proposals/199

Your support would be really helpful and you could make the difference! Thank you!

Yeah exercising is one of the best de-stressing or preventative measures one could take. I have to get back into sports ๐Ÿ™ˆ.

Grateful, we have enough nature around us and that we're blessed to go outside of the city as often as we can.

Appreciate Mother Earth!

Hey, reading this just now. Have been offline for a while now because of some hectic and yet positive changes in my life, that needed my full attention.

Great to be back and have an awesome new week!

It has been raining at our new place since the day we moved in, reminds us of the weather in Suriname. Here we are surrounded by mountains and forest, unlike the ricefields that dominate most of the landscape of this country. Hope you two are doing well and making progress. Although Suriname is notoriously corrupt, compared to places I have been around the world, Suriname officials are fairly approachable, and I was surprised that many basic interactions with the government can be done without tips ๐Ÿ˜„.

It's still raining here, as June and July used to be the official rainy months.

I'm just now reading your comment, because of some hectic positive changes the past few month, which needed my full attention.

Happy to be back ๐Ÿ˜.

!LOL corruption is indeed a virus that needs to be handled in Suriname, but I haven't been affected by it directly in my everyday life. Indirectly definitely if we may belief the news.

Have a wonderful new week! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Did you hear about the guy who threw his alarm clock while hosting a party?
He wanted to see if time flys while having fun.
