Moroccan Soup With Minced Lamb Meatballs, For Those Freezing Days ๐Ÿฝ

On one of those cold freezing days, a piping hot and filling soup is a welcome meal. We were out strolling one day during lunchtime, in a neighborhood we didn't know that well thus not knowing which restaurants or pubs served flavorful food. A fast-food franchise would've been an option, but we were in the mood of something different.

Some restaurants weren't open yet and one of the few that was open, happened to be a soup connoisseur. Because of the cold weather and slippery streets, we decided to give the local soup spot a try.

The menu consisted of a variety of soups - among which the famous Dutch snert - and sandwiches. On their website I could see that there were even other types of soups, that weren't served that day. They rotate the menu from time to time I suppose, with some staples like snert and Thai noodle soup.

For drinks, I ordered a hot mint tea to warm myself up and even joked that though we had a mint shrub in Suriname, I didn't use the herb for tea and now that I'm in a colder climate, that's one of the first things I ordered.

For lunch I, was contemplating between the Thai noodle soup, Italian tomato soup, Indian lentil soup and Moroccan soup with minced lamb meatballs. Because of one of the soups not having meat, that was the first to go. Ultimately, I decided on the Moroccan lamb meatballs soup with chickpeas, which was creamy with a hint of tanginess. Warmed up from the inside, we left the soup place and decided if ever in the neighborhood and in need of a light soup this was a place to give another try.

What do you like to have in colder temperatures? Let me know in the comments below ๐Ÿค“.

Hi there, @tanjakolader. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ This soup looks inviting. Hot soup and a hot drink will definitely keep you warm!

So there are restaurants that serve just soups? We don't get much cold weather in my country but when it's cool, I prefer my tea or coffee. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

So there are restaurants that serve just soups?

Yeah, I know of one in the country I'm from, but I assume there are more soup places in especially colder climates.

What part of the world are you from if I may ask?
I actually also prefer coffee, but trying to keep it at one cup per day ๐Ÿ˜….
